А как господь красиво расписал их оперение! Кто скажет, что это только для мимикрии, в того запустим камень! Это исключительно эстетическая потребность 😂
Thank you to BirdlifeOdyssey, the Loon Preservation Committee, and LoonOrgNH for the delightful video! I wholeheartedly agree with the statement about the video being an extraordinary feast not only for your eyes but also for your ears. Long live the Loons!😊😍
Yay for chicks! More chicks mean more loons and more loons mean more beautiful loon calls! ❤️ We just discovered a pair of loons in our pond in northeastern PA! Never seen them here before and we're super excited! The loons sound magnificent in the early morning mist. Such a haunting sound. I hope our pair decides to nest, there's lots of grassy little islands in our pond.
@whimsygrove9971 This is very exciting! I will keep my fingers crossed for your pair of Loons! Such great news! I love Loons and their calls. Thanks a lot for such a great comment! ❤️❤️❤️😍🥰

Thank you for your nice recap video, Nature Lover Birdlife Odyssey 🥰 I admire that the markings of a bird's plumage are beautiful. With a design in only black and white. ❤😍 Little chick is very cute and swimming well. Their chorus sounds unique May this family be happy and healthy! ❤🍀🌸

@feliciavetrone1561 The camera is off now so there cannot be any new videos. Loon chicks leave the nest after 1 day. However, parents take care of their chicks until the chicks reach fledging age (typically around 12 weeks of age). At this stage, it is possible that the second parent migrates to the oceanand then, the chick is left alone on their natal lakes. Chicks tend to leave their lakes 1-3 weeks after their parents. However, some of them remain there into the early winter.
@feliciavetrone1561 I love watching them too. They are truly beautiful and their calls are amazing. The chick is so pretty and adorable. Thanks a lot for your nice comments! 😍🥰❤️
@BeachMawMaw That's correct. Only one egg hatched. I agree. Loons are really beautiful birds. Thanks a lot for your nice comment! I'm really glad that you like this video. ❤️😍🥰
Loons are graceful swimmers, but however their wailing are so scary 🫣 and terrifying at night after sunset 🌅 the female’s wail sounds like a wolf 🐺 howling. Watching from Philippines 🇵🇭
@HenzCarlTupas Thanks a lot for watching and for your comment! Yes, you are right. Loons calls are similar to the howling of a wolf. Best wishes for you! Have a great day! ❤️🥰
@camelleharris5283 Thank you very much for your nice comment! ❤️😍 Yes, I agree. The feedings were not caught on camera often, so there is no information about the frequency of feeding the chick. I'm sure that when they went for a swim together the parents managed to catch some tasty snacks to feed the chick. It was far from the camera so it was not possible to see it clearly.
Was just up on that particular lake and hatching cove. They move away to great nursery area around the bend. That second egg never hatched as far as we know. We had a lean season on chicks. Approx 10 days ago we saw the loon chick swimming quite well with both parents. Then lots and lots of rain on the lake for several days. The chick has not been seen by us again. We intentionally traversed the general area for a few days in row through yesterday without eyes on it. Lots and lots more jet skis are in the protected area where they reside. It makes us wonder if the chick made it. Only adults swimming and no pair was together. They are very much protected up there. We also had an ancient snapping turtle nearly a foot across the belly. We are only a cove away! Hugest turtle I have ever seen in 40 years up there. What’s a tiny chick to do? Worried loon mom. 😢
@Wild_birds7 Yes, it is beautiful indeed. The voice is quite surprising and intriguing at the same time. Loons make a lot of different sounds. The wailing sounds a little bit scary. Thanks a lot for your nice comment! ❤️❤️❤️🥰😍
@lisahjau917 They eat under water when they swim. The chick was taken swimming a few times and it was fed then. It is not visible on camera. I would prefer to see it too. However, the parents took the chick far away and the details could not be seen.
Yes, it looks a little bit scary but nothing happened to the chick. The parents fed the chick while swimming but it was not possible to see it as it was too far away.
