Since I broke my hand, this week I'm having color specialist Jay Olson show you how to get Fashion Balayage on his model Harley.
Balayage is a salon technique to ombre or highlight the hair. It does so in a sweeping or painting manner to create soft, natural looking looks. This particular balayage uses surface coloring to give a nice pop of color at the end of the hair. This looks great on dark hair and paired with undone waves.

I looooooove this tutorial!! And i love the hair that Cara delevigne has but i have like medium or dark brown hair, can i get her color(like a light or dark ash )? Make a tutorial about it!!

So I was just wondering with the fashion color that you used over the balayaged pieces, did you hand paid the color over it or use it like a "toner." Thanks in advance ☺️💁🏼

Hi! I would like to get this look. What should I ask my local hair dresser exactly for? A coloured balayage? Also were her ends bleached first to achieve this pink?

Jinan E. I would definitely bring in lots of photos. And yes, her ends were pre lighted and colored over with a magenta I believe.

Hi, Can I clarify: This was pre lightening he was applying in the balayage technique and then the gorgeous pink was added once pre-lightened? I'm looking at doing this so I can use temporary dyes and change up the fashion colour each time. Would this work?
