You just explained dart manipulation so plainly I could give you a giant hug 🤗!!!! I’m in design school and never fully grasped the concept of DM, but you solved it for me!!! THANK YOU 😊!!!
You are my life saver, I haven't done pattern for a long time, I really feel like a beginner in darts all of a sudden, I haven't felt so vulnerable and helpless like this before, I'm too shock that I forgotten all the thing I learn 14 years ago....
Love all of your videos I was studying at a local school and they closed down without warning now I’m left with no choice but to learn on my own! Thank you!
Hello Natalia. This is my first time to watch your video clips about sewing. I enjoyed watching and learned few. I just bougth an electric portable sewing machine for my wife. She knewhow to cut and sew. But I decided to do an experiment on how to sew. Believe it, I finished 2 blows ordered to her by a friend. I wish I will be more skillfull in connection with sewing so I take time to watch your presentation from time to time. :-) thankyou. -- Philippines
You're an excellent teacher! We could have a podcast on digital pattern making if you want and there are enough people interested. I've been making patterns digitally for over two years now and I would be happy to share what I know. Maybe early next year!
@@NataliaTrevinoAmaro ok let's do it!! I think there is a real need and people are trending towards that - and it's not hard - it takes work, but once you get used to it - it makes for very simple pattern making. Especially when you have to tweak something.
I loved this! Do you think you could do a video on sewing with stretch/knit fabrics? I have my own business and I outsource my sewing, but I would really like a solid foundation in sewing, and to maybe be able to make my own samples for production!
Hi Natalia, I love your videos and I’m so excited about getting into fashion design! For now I’m self-taught, and I want to take classes eventually! The only thing I can’t find info on is how do you calculate the width of the dart? Is it a standard number? Or some formula? I’m confused on darts still. I understand what they’re for, I just don’t know how or where to place them, or how wide they should be. Anyones advice or knowledge would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks :)
Pls show us how you created your website, as best as you can. I feel like that'd be really helpful for anyone looking to start their online business including myself!💕💕
Thank you for your video. Dart manipulation is fascinating. I have a question. If you have a waist dart and a bust dart and you wanted to remove the waist dart and manipulate it into to the existing bust dart, would it work?
the second pattern after you removed the shoulder dart what if i do not want that dart in the waist too i do not wanted to be shown as when i have to sew it to be removed i do not want waist dart any way if i am ganna do a fit cloth or over sized one or even loose one how can i remove it without messing the pattern up or the shape of it excuse me if i can not explain well
They have to have darts if it’s a woven (non-stretch) fabric - otherwise it won’t fit around the curve of the body. If it’s a stretch material, then you can eliminate the darts because the fabric molds around your curves
