I will always love Hanoi Rocks! My life has been "Tragedy" and sometimes I'm "Cutting corners". Sometimes all my friends seem to be "Million Miles Away". But when I'm "A day late, a dollar short" and "Lost in the city" I always take one left and follow "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" to the "Café Avenue"!
Hanoi Rocks might not be the favorite band of all people that came here but it's youthness and punk attitude do revigorate us all and I fell so young and full of energy that I'm not afraid of saying that this band fuckin' rocks and will be remembered for ever.
Guitar_exe fuck yeah!!!! Insanely underated!!! Michael Monroe had one of the best voices in music, writes great rockin songs that are fuckin ridiculously catchy the first time you ever hear you'll be singing along by the 2nd verse. And he's always got great fucking musicians with no matter what he's playing. Not to mention the fuckin energy and excitement of true rock n roll youth!! I love him and everything he does, we're so lucky he's lived through everything in his life to keep treating us to his musical gems of beautiful rock n roll still in 2017
Have you heard the old Hanoi?? it has inner and power. Mike Monroe (singer) said that this song was just Andy's pop song wich got famous.. Hanoi really got the power and you see it from their lives..
Hanoi Rocks, Mötley Crüe, Girl etc. were the bands that started the whole Sleaze scene... By 1985 there was a jizzillion bands in the genres of glam and sleaze. Some took the glam direction to the extreme and played this pink bubble-gum pop-metal (Poison, Warrant etc.) while others went sleaze metal and played a dirty, gritty glam style (Crüe, L.A.Guns, GnR).
McCoy and Bloom, what a marriage of guitars! The world hasn't seen anything like it since the days of Andy and Nasty. Darn, I didn't pick them up live; I'll be shagged!
That guitar riff that plays throughout this song sounds like a slow tempo version of Cheyenne: "So stay right where you are, I'll pick you up anyway, any day around I'll be with you..."
@Phenomenalhardy Me too my friend. But he is happy in heaven when he sees how popular Hanoi Rocks is and how long Michael, Andy and guys went and how we still remember Razzle.
As an old Hanoi fan they are their best now. They are in the peak, so I am disapointed that they break now. The band is in great shape now. Why don't they continue?
Woah...Take it easy..just because I'm a teen doesn't mean you like them more than me. A fan is a fan...how are some better than others? Music is made to be liked by all, not only by a certain generation.
@DrSparrowShrike You're wrong! It's from movie "Bam Margera Presents: Where the ♯$&% Is Santa?" Bam and his gang are looking for Santa Claus from Finland and they hang around with Mr McCoy in Tampere before Hanoi Rocks' accoustic gig.
This song is kind of a ''message'' for the bands which ''copied'' Hanoi's style during 80's.. '' We'll show the world how'' '' To wake this planet up with a new sound now''
@hannahappiest Glam rock oli tyylisuunta 70-luvun alussa, josta Hanoi Rocks otti vaikutteita. Glam rock -bändejä olivat mm. T. Rex, Slade, Sweet, Mott the Hoople. Hanoi Rocks yhdisti musiikissaan montaa eri tyyliä, mutta ehkä sitä voisi sanoa Glam punkiksi. Guns N' Roses on mielestäni kans glam punkia tai sleaze rockia. Mutta esim Mötley Crüe, Skid Row, Poison jne. ovat taas Glam metallia!
dood!!! i hear all about how great andy mccoy is and then i look at this wonderous band to see how great he is... the people who described him didn't describe him right... he's way fucking better than they said!!!!!!!!!!
Look Manic Street Preahers-you love us video, manic street preachers richey edwards is hanoi rocks fan..but he is missing 1995-....look their love's sweet exile video too.
Pop-stylish but still very rock´n roll -Andy composition + genious idea of the twangy guitar sound + very catchy + awesome bridge (or is it part b) before the solo + fucking stylish guitar solo + Mike Monroe´s charisma and voice + Conny Bloom + other greats. Not too bad.
Hanoi Rocks formed 1979 in Finland.Andy McCoy in guitar, cool and crazy player.Inspired Guns,n,Roses,Skid Row,Poison....and maybe Johnn Depp image for Jack Sparrow!!
Andrus Karpenko Yeah Izzy Stradlin even tried to look like Andy McCoy. If you watch photos of Andy McCoy and Izzy Stradlin (80s) you cant really tell difference.
