These illustrations are so wonderfully delicate! Also, I highly appreciate the commentary on ethical consumption - it’s not something I see talked about a lot, especially in the art world
you may find that spraying the watercolor and letting it sit for a few minutes before you paint will help them be more saturated - hopefully thatll help with your pearlescent set!

I love your art so much. It really inspires and motivates me to work on my art as well. It also makes me feel better and like I can do it when it comes to painting, because I like watercolor too, but I don't go to art school, so all I'm doing is through trial and error and maybe 2 yt videos. And if you can paint like that by teaching yourself basically, than I can do too.💜💜💜

hi!! here i used a grumbacher brush (with the red handle) i believe that’s natural! the some are the basic brushes from blick (with the blue handle) - those are synthetic! the brushes with the green handles i got as a gift so not sure where they’re from but are by a brand called painters touch! i haven’t used very many brushes so not sure if i’m the best for recommending but hope this helped!
hi!! here 2 help!! also don’t worry it’s not wrong at all but here are a few reasons why i’m personally not supporting (no judgement at all if you use amazon though!!!) 1. small business see amazon as a threat because of their pricing, they don’t have amazon’s supply chain expertise (1-2 day shipping), so they list their products on amazon. amazon usually takes a 15% commission, which is a big hit for a small business. this is turning into a monopoly-like business 2. treatment of workers in factories and delivery workers: there are a bunch of testimonials online about what it was like working at amazon, so definitely don’t want to speak on their behalf, but the general consensus is that workers aren’t treated fairly. Often their breaks are cut down, they’re monitored on time when going to the bathroom, and have to work long days on their feet. Additionally, delivery drivers are expected to deliver 200+ packages in a 9 hr work day!! Amazon sets huge quotas for these workers and doesn’t provide them with adequate support, leaving a lot of them in pain or exhausted to the bone. 3. they’ve been suppressing labor unions :( but don’t worry if you have to use it!!! you can always balance out spending on amazon with supporting small businesses or support non profits, etc. hope this helped!!
im a little sad you compared paul rubens to sakura koi. Sakura koi is a student grade art supply. Paul Rubens is professional quality paint, yes it might not be daniel smith level but STILL ;;; anyways the fashion sketches are very pretty and the intro was adorable!!
also must add, the reason you were able to layer a lot on the arches paper is because it is 100% cotton! which is the best substrate for watercolors. And friendly reminder that paper expires, so use it up!!
don’t worry! i only compared it because that’s the only other watercolors i’ve tried. the paul rubens people also explained about their product being friendly for beginners! also i didn’t come into art with a lot of money to spend and since paul rubens is affordable for the quality i wanted to emphasize how it was a good choice for students too! (i think that’s what i said - this video is old wow!)
@@lemongacha oh i know they are very affordable! Paul rubens and rosa gallery are my go to recommendations for beginners because their good quality and affordability 🤗 my first set of watercolors came in a cereal box! 😭😭😭😭
