Hi! I have noticed that everything you picked up you did not like was an item that was more extravagant, more out there, more noticeable, so something that took more place and which showcases a more outspoken personality (if that makes sense) basically it is less of a classic piece, something less associated with a classy, elegant woman. And I find this very interesting in a social commentary sort of way that altogether, (I include myself in that lot) most women (at least more so than men) are raised subconsciously to think they need to be polished, to be classy, to show manners, to not take too much space, to have fine clothing (what we associate with femininity), and I think socially we integrate this idea as being what we like when really as Sociologist Bourdieux said : Our distastes are more a commentary of the social class we grew up in than of our actual tastes. So say as an example you were from a middle class family, you were taught not to be extravagant, because it was not in the family's means because you were taught to blend in to what was acceptable for the person you were, for you to be accepted, for you to earn a respectful living (if grossly put). Anyways, interesting video and I just reflected on it a bit randomly.. Respectfully :)
This reminds me of that one episode of Ugly Betty, where she gets a makeover in queens (obviously super extravagant with big curly hair, long nails, hoops, super vibrant colors) and then everyone at her work HATES it, whereas everyone in queens thought she looked good
No. Most people just don't like to wear clothes that look like they are falling apart or making them look sweaty and dirty. Men or women. All of these preferences can be attributed to "I wanna look clean, my clothes be well made, and not be a walking advertisement for some company" Respectfully :)
You were cracking me UP in this video!!!! I agree with so many of your opinions but even the ones I didn't agree with, I totally respect your POV and also think your delivery is hilarious 🤣😘
I like platform sandals. I like a shoe that isnt dainty. I think dainty shoes make me look out of proportion, and they make my legs look shorter. But the sheer stuff is annoying. I dont get bag charms.
The major thing I got from this video is that you know exactly who you are, what your style is and are not swayed by trends and aesthetics. That's really admirable 😊❤❤ And it's very funny to see how our personal stories, culture and environment have an impact on how we feel about certain things 😂 like the Jersey thing, here in Nigeria, its like a normal polo. Sure, we wear it to watch matches and some even buy the latest design from their clubs and all that but it's sooooo common here in stores and thrift markets so its really not that expensive (except the originals of course) and we even wear it to church if you feel like 😂😂
I have seen some mary jane with heels that are not cute, I think some looks really granny style haha but the ones in the video at least for me looks like a lot young people would wear but yes I doesn't go with everyones style
I agree with the majority of what you pointed out in your video, but as a Brazilian who absolutely loves football, football jerseys are a must in my closet since I was a child 😂 it is interesting to notice how our personal experiences defintely shape our style and our fashion preferences though. Love your channel!
The over accessorize handbag seems to come from Jane Birkin's Birkin bag. Personally, I don't like Birkin bag at all, but when I saw Jane Birkin's bag, I thought that it was quite charming and cozy. Her bag charms were things that she used and had meaning to her, so they reflected her personality. But the current trend lacks that meaning. Anything without authencity tends to look cheap, I think. And about the trend skirt over pants, Japanese people have been doing it for a long time and looking good. But they often mix midi skirt or long dress with texture contrast, not mini skirt.
More or less agree w/ most of these hot takes. What I will say about the jerseys is that if you're a sports fan/it's your vibe, or circumstances occur (like going to a sports event, your s/o plays sports, etc.) it's fine; however, just doing it for the Pinterest board is my ick. Like be for real. Additionally, the skirt over the pants is definitely a tribute to the early 2000's so it coming back w/ the maximalist trends that were heavy in that time makes sense. As for the bag charms...my problem is that they're on bags that don't go w/ the vibes. Putting them on a bag that goes w/ the vibes, the fit, etc. is all good. If you're a part of certain communities that sell key-chain merch, I get it, but not on a luxury bag plz😭😭😭😭
Thoroughly enjoyed this video and agreed with soooooo much of what you said! For me most animal prints and anything polka dots, I've never been drawn to Hope you recover soon, Kita, God bless!
Oh my, some conservative opinions here...did not quite expect that. 😐What's "flattering" what clothes are for "girls" and which ones are for "boys"? Yeez...😶🌫
The only place where the short undies looked cute was on Sex and the City ... Carrie rocked them 🎉 If I were to show up to dinner with these on ... my kids would probably pretend that they didn't know me 😂
I don't have a very skinny legs, and because of that I don't wear short skirts or shorts, but I really love too. Do you have any advice? Also, LOOOOVVVVEEEEE your contents
First of all, wear the mini skirt girl! Life is too short and I’m sure you are gonna slay! I would wear a more covering top with it, maybe a long sleeve or a cute blouse with a bit of volume so some attention goes to the top. If not I personally love midi or long skirts they are my absolute favorite and I think look amazing on everyone! ♥️♥️
Haha «bigger glasses look way better» - Ma’am isnt this pretty much the exact same size as the sunnies you always wear? Same principle, no? 😅 Love you and your videos! 😘
I think the loewe logo is art, I would buy a top with that logo if I just saw it in a random store and never hear of the brand (not the name spelt out but the logo)😂
I agree with all of them except knee length skirts . I think just above the knee is perfect or even just at the knee. It’s when they are cut at the calf that they look frumpy (midi length). Unless someone wears them with heels, midi length is always gonna make legs look short
