While they don't look as aggressive as female models, of course there's that one goal everybody is aiming for, to open a show or to be the next ambassador for the fashion house etc etc. Be the next celebrity model etc etc.

My god they were all so young and extremely skinny here. The standards of beauty for men have drastically changed since then.

Nope there were still buff models during this time and earlier. Fashion Houses prefer skinny men because they want the clothes to fit and muscular models may not fit on the clothes that are sample sizes zero
