Always nice to listen to someone who is REAL... we all slip and improvise... more people need to be OK with being human and getting creative.. TY for being YOU!
The Lord is my best friend and constant companion. Hubby works full time in NY so most of the time and is just me and Jesus on this mountain. Thanks for watching, Chris! God bless!🥰✝️
Thank you for not being afraid to share your faith in your videos (Chosen shirt, 3crosses in corner, mentioning our Lord!) I love watching you & enjoy your sense of humor! 🙌
Thank you so much for your sweet comment, Kathy! I'm glad you enjoy my videos. I am a bit of a class clown and I am proud to be a rebel, like Jesus! God bless! 🥰✝️
March 15, 2024. Wow! What a beautiful quilt! I've been trying to figure out what to do with this one jelly roll I have. I won it at my quilt guild's 2022 Christmas party. Thank you Melissa! Marion in Oregon. Beautiful spring day here.
Hi Marion. Apologies for not responding sooner. I'm dealing with some unpleasant health issues and I've been out of sorts the entire month. Thank you so much for watching my videos! I'm glad Spring has started for you. It started here but has stalled a bit. Today its only in the 40s.
Thank you for sharing this with us. Thank you for all your teaching information. You TRULY helped me. I need the extra attention. God bless you too. 😊❤🙏🌹🍀🤗
This is such a beautiful quilt, you are so talented! Thank you for sharing and taking the time to make this video. Thank you for mentioning the Lord. He is the best! I love how you are real and you didn’t edit out your mistakes. I am a beginner, and I can respect mistakes! Lol!
The only perfect being is God. I am a very flawed individual and I can't be fake about that. I'm so happy my video helped you, especially as you are a beginner. I've been quilting since the 70s and I'm still a beginner too! Thanks for watching, Teresa!
Melissa.......I just love this pattern.....I'm for sure going to try it......still watching you all the time.....your videos are so great......SueAnn from Idaho
Hi SueAnn! Has fall settled in in Idaho? It has here. Trees are changing and leaves are dropping. This was a fun one, give it a try sometime. Thanks for watching!
Sue at Revelation Quilts is a GREAT quilter. She does like to come up with patterns. Just like Cathy at The Catbird Quilts, Sue is into the "math-ee-ness" of patterns. I myself was terrible at math. I like it when the pattern is in the description and I can copy and study it.
I better hurry up. I have a lot to do!!!😂❤🎉😊 Discord is fun Ladies and gentlemen!! I love chatting with Melissa about anything and everything! Blessings 😊
It's midnight....I can't sleep....watching you....."just have a cup of coffee or a cookie"......I laughed so hard.....still laughing.........it's been 10 minutes.......still dieing.....lol
I just LOVE quilters who admit to making the same mistakes the rest of us do and can find humor along the way. If we can't laugh at ourselves now and then......... Thanks for this really good video. Sewing the strips AND matching the sewing lines without doing it frantically or as though you have OCD was SO refreshing! Perfection is overrated; to err is human. From one imperfect human to another - I frequently crack myself up! The colors in that jelly roll are gorgeous! I think I must have watched hundreds of quilting videos, but you can ALWAYS learn something new along the way. Quilting provides calm and keeps me sane. Well,.......IMHO, anyway. Linda
I love your video. I got my first laugh of the day when the roller-coaster scene came on😂 I've been wondering what I was going to do with some jelly roll strips and I think that this pattern will work. Thank you! I also love that you share Jesus!
I have my mother's old Singer sewing machine that she made clothes for all five kids with, that she taught me and my two sisters and my brother to sew on. That she made her own clothes (she loved Vogue and Butterick patterns). Also, my sister's wedding dress, and a ball gown of green silk , taffeta and and overlay of lace to wear to the general's ball in Colorado Springs in 1958 where my father's taught at the Air Force Academy. You have the same machine, whata joy to see it! And now I'm going to make this quilt on it😅
Thanks for this really easy complicated looking scrappy quilt from a jelly roll! Looks way more difficult than it actually is, thanks to your very clear instructions! I'm sure I will be doing this one if I can find a roll that has enough duplicates!❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you for another cool jelly roll pattern. I just found your video, and wanted to thank you for sharing. I'll try to send a picture of one that I'm working on!
This is a fab and honest tutorial. I am making a jelly roll quilt for my grandson in NZ and one for my grandaughter in Tasmania. I'm visiting them after Christmas and so starting now. Many, many thanks. God bless you xx
Thanks for finding me, Sue! I'm glad you like my videos. The Chosen is what gave me a relationship with Jesus. It really cleared the confusion from the Bible. Thanks for watching!
The weather has broken here. This week was in the 70s to low 80s and not so humid. Other than that week, we've had a stellar summer. I'm glad you don't have the humidity. That just drains me.🥰💕
Hello South Africa! I had a colleague who worked at an academic campus there and he brought me a bottle of sand from the southern most beach in South Africa. It was over 20 years ago and I still have that bottle! Thanks so much for watching, Desray & thank you for the reminder. God bless.
Love your channel! Thank you for sharing. 😊🌹🍁 Maybe you could try measuring and cutting from the other side of the ruler to help prevent the swerve as you approach the end of the fabric. I think that happens a lot when a person cuts on the left side of the ruler. I think it happens a lot less often when cutting on the right side of the ruler. ...I hope what I'm saying makes sense...lol 😊 Have a blessed day! 💗🙏🙏🙏💗
Thank you for being real with sharing your not so perfect and sharing your mistakes with cutting because that happens to me too. I’m going to get a weight like you have for my ruler. I’m so glad I found you 😊
Good Thursday morning!! Its wonderful here today ,on coastal sc❤🙏🐦 . love your shirt!I have that one to. As I being sewing ,I was a clothes maker so I used a lot pins but your method is great!. I won't worry about the nails girl friend you are making it real😘
I rolled hearing your quick little remark .. " Cause me & math don't get along." I was so glad to hear that because me & math never got along either 😉😆.. but we still manage to get thing's done! I enjoy your teachings, they're simple & easy to understand. Thank you for that!!!
Thank you so much for showing how to make an easy quilt out of the Jelly Rolls. I had bought two different ones a couple years ago and they are still sitting. Now I know exactly what I will be making, thanks to you. I haven’t watched part 2 yet but I hope it covers the batting & backing along with the binding. I am not an experienced quilter at all. The binding gave me the most trouble. I am Blessed to have found your channel. I am going to the videos where I saw Jesus’s name so I can watch one. Thank you and have a blessed day. Karen
Oh Karen, I don't touch on the binding in Part 2 because I have a pile of around 40 quilt tops that need quilting. My body limits what I can do and I don't have a setup conducive to machine quilting at the moment. My Bernina sits too high on the table and it stresses out my neck so fast. I do have videos where I do batting and bindings so you can watch those. I will try to get to quilting as soon as I get a table that works for me. I'm eyeing a sit down long arm but it isn't in the budget for now so the pile of tops grows. Thank you for your comment and for watching. God bless!
Thanks so much for your clear instructions and great video😊 Visited with a great group of ladies as we all worked on our projects of choice. Lots of laughter and Jesus shared❤
Hello, I just found your channel. I love the quilt you’re making. The colors are so vibrant and beautiful. The pattern seems fairly straightforward and easy. I have to say I love your Chicken, he is so handsome. Thank you for a great video.
Try it, Robin. It is a very easy method and produces a beautiful quilt. Part 2 shows my flaws though. I get brain fogs and me and math don't get along. Bear with me though, the quilt top gets done. Thanks for watching and I'm glad you like my teaching style.
Hi Shannon, thanks for watching. I got the batik jelly roll from Sew Yeah Quilting. I did a search on their site but couldn't find one but here is the link to their shop. I believe I picked it up on one of their live RU-vid sales on a Tuesday or Saturday.
I have the same problem with the ruler moving also. What I have found that helps me is to not put the whole dumbbell on the ruler. I put the end of the dumbbell that's on the table toward the way the ruler moves when cutting. I also go slower and move my hand up the ruler as I’m cutting. Hope this helps. 😊
