this was a very fun and easy project to make! Loved the different stitches and the final result. Will be gifting it to a friend of mine on her baby shower next month and I'm sure she'll love it! thank you for the tutorial!

I like the fact that you use a Ch1 turning chain. So many patterns do a ch 2 and that makes it look rather sloppy for me. Love the border!

When I do the final side of the first border round with 2sc in each gap space it creates a wavy edge that the other sides do not have. Is this correct?

Hello! The reason for making 2 sc in each space at that part of the border is to have (roughly) the same number of stitches on the top and border. Remember, we made a number of starting chains and then when starting the blanket body, we skipped every other stitch. I found that making 2 sc in each space made the border even. You may want to try continuing the border to see if you are happy with the look and if the wave lessens. If not, you can try making a different number of stitches along the top of the first round of the border. You could try alternating between 1 sc and then 2 sc along the top (just for the top of the first round - and this is just an idea and hasn’t been tested the way the 2 sc in each space has). Hope that helps. :)

This is a beautiful blanket and worked up so well, I am very happy with the way it worked up and the way it looks. Thank you so much, you are such a good teacher, I will be making more of these and I also have the patterns for your other blankets as well. The directions were so easy to follow along with your video, I am extremely happy!

Something must be off because when I do round 1 border, the sides have half the single crochet stitches than the top and bottom. I continued until round 4 and the sides were shorter and it wasn't square. What is happening? Are you sure you only single stitch into the gap spaces only? To me, we should be single stitching into the gap space and the single crochet space.

Hi there! Perhaps refer to the written instructions for the border. They can be found here: jototheworld.com/moss-stitch-baby-blanket-crochet-pattern I had this pattern extensively tested, especially this border. Hope this helps.

Does it matter about the under the loop single crochet?
@jototheworldcreations
@jototheworldcreations 2 года назад
Hi Midge, I'm not quite sure I understand your question. Happy to help though! Let me know what I can do. Thanks.

@@jototheworldcreations Some people go over the yarn before pulling through the loop, but you go under. Does that change the way the stitch looks?
@jototheworldcreations
@jototheworldcreations 2 года назад
@@midgethorn4083 thanks for clarifying. No, it doesn't change the look of the stitch - just crochet as you normally would!

@@jototheworldcreationshi! I’m a beginner. I was wondering why you decide to yarn under then yarn over … is there a benefit to yarn under? Just curious because I never saw that before.. except for amigurumi videos …

Do you have a tip on counting rows? I'm still working on how to do that.
@jototheworldcreations
@jototheworldcreations Год назад
Sure! You can look at the sc stitches and see how they alternate as you count up. You can also make a small swatch and note every row and compare that to your blanket. Or use stitch markers for every 5 rows or so. Or you can use a row counter like the one here: jototheworld.com/crochet-supplies A good thing about this blanket is you can make the height any # of rows. So the actual number doesn’t matter in this pattern. Hope this helps!

It’s a Chan 1 space…not gap space!
@jototheworldcreations
@jototheworldcreations 10 месяцев назад
Yes, a gap space is a chain-one space. For this pattern I’ve referred to it as a gap space.
