I think it's about 1/4 inch or about 6 mm?

So, if my bowl is, say, 12 inches, divide by 2, then still add the 3 inches? Or would that number go up? Then follow the rest of the steps.

Yes, the 3 inches will go down the side of your bowl's edge and 3" will probably be enough but you could add more. The 3" is the fabric down the side of the bowl and you only lose about 1/2" of that length to your seam :). hope that helps!

Hi, great video! I'm wondering: Why didn't you just trace the bowl or jar instead of doing all the math? Seems unnecessarily complicated.
