POV video from: Olivier, Hussars LA Rider: Zack Nation www.instagram.... Harley rider doing a spirited short Mulholland Snake run. The video was up-sampled to 4K
When I got my racing license the instructor gave me some great advice. He said, "If you aren't getting paid on a race track never exceed 90% of your maximum pace. Eventually you will need the margin of error." Great lesson. It Has served me for more than 15 years on public roads.
@@Rodrigo-tk2fm as fast as you can push it without wrecking is 100%. Deciding not to ride is 0%. If you're not familiar with the area, don't go blasting through there at 100% and this stuff won't happen. Go 80% until you know the road you're on and know you're st the right speed for the upcoming obstacles
@@Rodrigo-tk2fm there are absolutely no second chances. Just close calls. Be cautious always. My buddy and i went out riding tonight. We both swerved early and out of the way of a few questionable cars. We both did it without thought at the same time, but it takes that time on the road to develop that. Every car is trying to kill you. Know yourself, know your bike. Don't push it too hard. That 100% line will eventually get further and further off than when you started. Take your time, pay attention, and have fun
I won’t tell anyone what do do or how to ride, but as a Registered Nurse that works in Emergency Departments, as well as in Intensive Care/Critical Care Units, I’m no stranger to skilled riders that will never be the same because something didn’t go as planned. This being said, I admire your skill on handling your bike. You’re far more skilled than I am, and are far braver than I’ll ever be. Best of luck to you.
Ppl always hate on Harley's but this proves you can still ride 1 pretty hard! You can't use the same lines as a sportsbike or riding style as they don't handle the same or lean as far! Awesome vid
Mario Cellura They sound like a water pump, because they are. An incredibly tricked out V rod aside, they have got to be one of the ugliest bike manufacturers on the market. If you want the naked look and enjoy throwing money at a bike, get the MV Augusta 800 Brutale Dragster.. That thing is a fucking sexy naked bike, and it actually performs.. Want naked and a twin, go but a KTM 1290 Super Duke. That twin sound, crazy torque, naked look and legitimate superbike performance. The only reason to buy a harley is if you want to be able to say "I have a harley". But hey, if you want to act like a hard cunt and pay tomorrow's prices for yesterday's technology.. Knock yaself out.
I've seen soooo many traffic jams in the canyons with some Harley bagger at the front of it, ridden by some no gear squid who is afraid to lean the bike over more than like 5 degrees. It's not the bike, I've ridden a couple of baggers, while they're no sportbikes they corner more than well enough to make a decent pace through a canyon.
Actually, most harley riders I know are pretty fast when they are on sport bike, they just don't care about speed when they ride a harley. Nothing wrong with it but the problem I have is when harley rides calls cop because I pass them in a no lane splitting state.
Cause we Harley people like to ride to enjoy the scenery. Yeah this guy is riding is impressive but it's only a matter of time before he dies. At least he's going to die doing what he loves. He's putting a lot of other lives in danger too
It is quite obvious that this guy has learnt to ride properly on sport and touring bikes BEFORE getting the highway couch (the knee position in corners is hallmark) Unfortunately, for most HD riders it’s the exact opposite: They start on a Harley and never develop out of their self-inflating ego comfort zone 🤷🏼♂️
This is super fast for a Harley but not for a bike with real handling and power. I mean, c'mon; the camera bike, which is not a Harley, is not even pushin hard and almost passed him a couple of times; BY ACCIDENT
Even all the Harley Glides handle good, maybe not this good but I've not held up any body yet nor get out of anyone's way. I live 1&1/2 hours from The Tail of The Dragon
I'm sorry but this guy doesn't ride fast and for sure isn't a good driver. He's got all of his ass out, but doesn't move his upper body. Is constantly breaking in and out of the curves. His bike is not stable in almost all of the curves (due to the weird positions mentioned before) and does not plans ahead the next corner. You can see that bouncy suspension, once even loosing grip and almost going to dirt... What he has is guts, he can ride for sure due to experience, but he is a sloppy rider. Just because your know how to counter steer doesn't mean you can ride. Also, when you ride like this, please, don't do it in a t-shirt, protect yourself.
@@johannsimonot absolutely right.. I have not yet seen a good American rider on the streets! They ride totally opposite to how one should safely.. I don't understand it!
Always enjoy watching Harley's being pushed....cool video. Too bad so many spend more time focused on their personal brand complexes versus just riding the hell out of their machines.
I've ridden motorcycles briefly. I am curious about an explanation as to what the differences actually are between athletic riding of a cruiser type vs sports type.
Everyone making fun or saying this guy is riding past his limit I don’t think has pushed themselves to get better at this kinda riding sport bike or not this guy corns faster than a lot of people can and his limitation is cause by the bike he’s riding on the bikes limits not his own you can hear him scrape pegs he’s leaning that bike as far as it can lean without exceeding the bikes limits and crashing that take a lot of skill and talent
Indeed... Someone once said something that in this case seems quite appropriate. Taken verbatim he said: "cant... cant we all just get along?" We must all put forth an equal amount of effort and I believe one day we can all ride as a cohesive unit. 👍🤗🤘😂
S L I think what he means is that the dude riding behind is riding a bike that's purposely built for racing verses a harley that's purposely built for cruising, kinda like a trail bike verses a full bore motocross bike on a motocross track. Now who do you think is going to have the advantage between the two?
By a dude on a hog no less... Check out the bagger race from Laguna secca if you really want to see mind fuck! Talk about dippin'! Its actually pretty cool as I was glued to my T.V. for the duration...
@@foolspeedahead ha! No kidding! I couldnt believe my eyes when I saw the ticker go across the screen saying "bagger" and "race" in the same sentence. I feel like I've seen something like this before but it wasnt near the caliber that this was. This was serious and the guys riding had put some serious thought behind it and once out there it showed. It was a hell of a sight to see a couple guys backing in a big ol bagger. Definitely will be looking for this if it ever comes around again!
I am shopping for my first bike now and while I tend to gravitate towards older japanese middleweight sportbikes, there is something undeniably cool about people riding cruisers hard like that. A lot of times I think of harley davidson as the dentist motorcycle for someone to ride to a dive bar in once a week, then I see videos like this and I realize that a small percentage of harley riders are actually the coolest guys on two wheels. When you see a cruiser up on one wheel it is automatically cool.
Most of us Harley guys that drive like that garage riding the bikes that you’re looking to buy right now. I started with a ZX seven in 1990, and then bought two CBR 900 RR‘s. Now I’m riding Hardtail Harleys the same way I was riding my metric bikes. A lot of us are stuck up people and it has to be harley 10% of us love anything with 2 wheels
I ride an 03 Low Rider in the Mountains outside of Denver every day.... I'm lucky that my commute is an hour of mostly Canyon Carving... And I ride a "Spirited" ride lol. Nuthin' as crazy as this guy, but not too horribly off that pace...especially when I'm late for work lol😉
@@Doobie603 I ended up getting an SV650 and a RMZ250 lol. I have already outgrown the 650 though and am looking to get something bigger. If I win the lottery, an aggressive/loud stripped down and bored out dyna is what I want more than anything.
@Malik Martin not true at all. Someone with twice his skill can crash if something unexpected happens. Car pulls out, hits oil patch or something. Skill isn't a licence to do what you want on the roads. Did none of you see him nearly going off Road at 1:00? He's riding beyond his skill in this vid
Indeed. We hate it soooo much when a sheep is not following the hurdle these days and some anonymous acid lines are our most extravagant ways to express our opinion... that nobody's asking for...Quod demonstrandum erat
