Route: East Coast Main Line
- Doncaster (DON) is the closest station
Crossing type: Manually Controlled Barrier crossing with CCTV (MCB-CCTV)
Filming location: Station Road, Rossington (DN11 0NG)
A couple of East Coast Main Line services seen passing this level crossing just south of Doncaster in the area of Rossington. At this location, the former site of Rossington Station which closed to passenger traffic in 1958, most trains in both directions are doing pretty much line speed (125mph), and with it being a semi-built-up twin-track section of the line, there is a massive sense of speed coming off of what passes! The level crossing is controlled from Doncaster's large Power Signal Box and has fairly loud alarms, and is pretty much all you notice at the site of the former station as the platforms, whilst still visible, are quite obscured. Four different lowerings feature in this video, the third happening almost immediately after the second, just at the precise moment I stopped recording for the previous lowering.
