I'm afraid this boat died..I daydreamed and smashed it into the bank on the other side into a boulder it still ran but the hull underneath was demolished..my best small boat ever but I have another on order I have it now a new one
Oh man that sucks! After I upgraded mine and bumped the speed up lets just say having someone with that will distract you is recipe for trouble lol! So easy to lose focus and get stuck. Salvage all your parts out and live another day!
@@paulcooper7162 sorry to hear about the crash. I recently crashed my volantex atomic into the rocks at about 80kmh, these thin hulls don't do well with hard impacts! I had holes all over. I know you have much nicer boats but a wreck always sucks, sorry to hear
@@frasermarine1495 Thanks man..oh that sounds bad..I guess we get used to bad things happening with our boats..oh yes have a nicer boat but the Vector SR80 was great as it self righted and had some power and handled well
My little 16" vector also goes ballistic on 4s 1000 pack using a 32 14 prop...not this fast, but for its size 35 plus mph is insane..all stock motor and esc..added a longer flex coupler and ball bearing to the strut...esc stays cool to my surprise..it says 20 amp,but I think it more like a 45 amp esc..
Hi😊👍 yes it is a bit, only regret here is I should have taken the boat to the lake and got some full acceleration runs,I could here because the boat doesn't like going back over its own wake this it leaves the water.I have 2 of this motor setup in my Zonda I've yet to test
Hi paul, i recognised that stretch of river straight away haha. I just took my new sr80 pro out to saxtons pond yesterday for the first run, its my first boat, love it. Planning to use it lots here and there so might see you around.
Hi Jack..I am really happy for you that you have one of these boats..Yes sure I will be be there once I get my new SR80..be great to see you sometime 😊👍
Hi😊👍 36mm and 40mm motors bolt up to the stock mount with a 50mm cooler or smaller it's a tight fit a 45mm can be used for a 36mm motor, you'll need to fit a rear motor mounting ring and fit a small motor mount at the rear to support the motor, you can also move the stock motor mount into different locations there's 3 different locators.youll need to push the cooler to the rear as far as possible as it hits the stock mount holder
@@paulcooper7162 Ya with that much power you need longer distance & it always seems to be windy in your area. Would like to see her run on some glass sometime. Are your trim tabs adjusted up or down or in between?
@@paulcooper7162 Ya adjust them all the way down & see how she tracks going straight it should keep the nose down. If water was perfectly calm you could go up on the tabs. I think eventually they will have remote adjustments for trim tabs that would be the SHIT right there.

Hey mate, I'm probably too late to get a reply, but I can't find any answers, I just brought this boat (loving it) after running a full 9000mah 4s pack and the motor staying really cool (like, nearly cold haha) I thought, surely the stock motor could handle a 6s, would I be right? I only ask because I haven't seen anyone run the stock motor on 6s. Thabks in advance mate, keep up the good work 😀
Hi😊..the motor I am running here is a SSS 4082 2600kv .don't try 6s on the stock vector motor.. I've tested a new Vector SR80 Pro last week,I used the stock motor and a 43mm prop and 5s lipo it's all more powerful than the 4s version,I have a vid on RU-vid
@@paulcooper7162 well I got about one second of near full throttle before the stock flex cable sheared at the solid stub shaft.. Lost my custom machined bushing and bored out propeller. But it was fun. And the 3/16 stuff is in the mail. I have enough stock stuff to try one more time tomorrow but I imagine a similar end result lol
😊👍..trippin for sure I wasnt happy with the course couldn't give it to it for long in the middle will try another area further down the river..Thanks for watching 👍😊😎
@@paulcooper7162 ..thanks for clarifying ..I didn't realise CA glue would work on the hull. Used mine for the first time yesterday...very impressed even though it's " stock" of course.
@@chrissofpv3017 That's good you got one I'm happy for you😊👍..The thin plastic eventually cracks along up top around the hatch with high speed ..This boat has had alot of usage it's the longest I've owned a boat ever CA glue is the perfect glue for it just amazing strong but not the cheap supeeglue.
@@paulcooper7162 Many thanks Paul for your tips,...yep,I have good industrial CA glue I use on my fpv quads...(..I,ll keep an eye on it in the future.) 👍🍻
Hi there😊..oh I have one of this boat arriving soon so I need to make that choice..problem with 6s is alot of power, thinplastic boat,it crack up top with the extra force..I'm heading fo 4s this time with SSS 4082 2600KV and a Octura M545 so a 45mm ..it's near as quick as 6s but battery run time is really long compared to when using same motor on 6s wi,th a smaller prop..150A flycolor ESC...the setup is same as my vid Fastest WINGRUSH
@@tyharper278 Hi😊..same mount but 2 mounts one to hold up the back end of the motor so you'll need to fit a 40mm ring mount bracket around the motor and only use a 50mm long water cooler
Thanks Casey 😊👍😎..I was a bit disappointed with the run couldn't really get a full throttle speed run as waves in the centre of the course but next time

Hey quick question, is the rudder dual pickup, bc I see on ours there's two inlets, and two holes on the top of the rudder, but missing a hose screw on top for the second line to be ran? Can you fill me in if they both work?

@@paulcooper7162 3/16 GE803 means fit for the 4.76 strut right? Think I’m gonna get two for both of my sr80pro🤣 Sr80pro just look so good but born with the imperfect turning issue ..
Heya Paul. Long time no chat. I have been away commercial fishing but I'm back in town looking to upgrade my sr80 pro with the genesis upgrade strut. I want to order the parts but I wanted to ask if you thought the 300mm long stuffing tube that comes in the genesis upgrade strut kit is long enough to work with the sr80 pro. I think my stock tube is around 275mm but it does not reach all the way back to the stock strut.. I imagine the upgrade strut will require the stuffing tube to reach out to it. I can just order parts separately and get a longer tube if required.. Seeing as u have done the mods I thought u might know. I'm currently a few days away from being back at my boat but I would like to place an order from rcboatbitz asap if I can get some solid info from you. Thanks man! Cale
Hi 😊👍 good to hear from you.. Yes brass stuffing tube and new teflon tube needs to be long enough to fit right up into the Rcboatbitz genesis upgrade strut so order the tube from RC boatbitz probably go for a 400mm..Do not buy the Rcboatbitz 4.76mm flex cable I've had 2 recent and both vibrated terribly and visually out.I get mine from AliExpress brass welded From Tilkiea model Store using Caniano shipping for special goods much quicker
Thanks for the quick reply! Any advice on a good propeller for a 4074 2250 kv on 6s? I'm thinking of trying a 1.9p. I currently have a 43mm 1.6p but have not tried it with this motor and it's been modified to 5mm so it's no good for the new 3/16 shaft... Last but not least. Do u know the size of the bushings in the genesis upgrade strut? I'm looking to order replacement bushings at the same time as I order all the other parts.. If you don't know I may just order two upgrade struts to keep me boating until I can figure out the bushing size for myself. Thanks again!
@@frasermarine1495 Not a problem I was on RU-vid ..I think a 1.4p is good cause they use less amp draw and are quicker 43mm..I'd still fit that 5mm prop should be fine.Genesis upgrade strut bushings 4.76mm
Hi Paul. It's more the outside diameter and length of the bushings that I'm looking for. I'm also looking at a 520mm cable with a 90mm stub? I believe it's a "left" cable that's required? Thanks again for all your help!
@@frasermarine1495 Yes left cable, positive also. I'm not sure I just fit the cable and then to the boat, the bushing are quite a way inside the entry of the strut where tube goes in plenty of length to support the tube.90mm is perfect..I will put a wee vid up for you in 5mins showing the strut and cable
Is that a ft011 collision cap on your rig? Great videos you have.. Im still running my stock motor on 6s. Have you had the problem of the prop hitting the rudder during a crash? It is ruining my props
Yes FTO11 cap.. Yes I've wrecked several decent props so I cut the rudder bracket shorter so it doesn't anymore and I can fit huge props. I will put a vid up for a few days showing where to cut
@@frasermarine1495 oh cool well done for putting them on I've not broken one at all where as the metal ones bend...look forward to your vids.. please remember to put flotation material up the front and the first time please run tape around the hatch as both me and Casey had our hatch fly off and sink. Casey did his a few days ago
Hi😊 The motor bolts into the stock mount perfectly but you need to add another mount at the end of the motor with a 40mm motor mount ring holder and a mount that glues to the floor, need to then if running 6s replace the cable, tube and strut ,ESC,trim fins
Hi David the nose cone is Feilun FTO11,need to cut the locator tab off ,I superglue the nose on push it on push hard as can push on. I wouldnt recommend doing this if your a learner ,I'd definitely fit a MSQ 3650 3500KV motor that bolts onto the stock motor connector and add a 120A ESC and 4s stock prop is really grunty and economical see my other vid with atomic Vs VECTOR SR80 PRO

I have one of these and now super bored of 4S! Theres a few of us with boats, all of which hitting 50- 70mph.. so i need to upgrade my sr80 pro. I already have 6S 5000mah batteries, out of all the motors youve tried is there any preffered? Any additional mods needed or just bolt to existing mount? Thanks :)
Hi,70mph is extremely fast for 4s lipo in a Vector SR80PRO..I've only got 118kph using a left prop upgrade from the new miss GEICO RC boat running a Turnigy XK 3674 2200kv motor..If you look through my vids you'll see one with that motor and the subtitles,if you upgrade the strut you'll need to use Rcboatbitz genesis upgrade strut from rcboatbitz.com also trim fins from a Feilun FT011..I use 3000mah Panthers. The SSS 4082 2600kv motor on 6s is faster and you'll need to add a motor mount at the rear of the motor as the stock motor mount will rip out..if you need more info just ask,I've had others ask and do upgrades but they couldn't get the handling as they didn't buy the Black plastic FT011 turn fins and Rcboatbitz genesis upgrade strut, also I don't think 5000mah 6s fits into SR80 Pro hits the lid
@@paulcooper7162 the 70 mph was with a TFL pursuit, i gps the vector at 37mph stock this weekend so need the change haha. Will try my 6s battery in the hull later and see it for size. As for strut how come you upgraded? As the stock strut is 5mm so should be plenty enough for 6S?
