This is BS. The soft limiter is always on as long as a gear isn’t engaged. You can be doing 300kmh and put it in neutral to try and rev it and it’ll still have the soft limiter on. So I have no idea how you got your info and why you have so many likes.
Having Yanni and other youtubers is fun, but it is also very nice having some real people from the industry. It is good to see their passion in what they are doing.
LOUD is a problem. Noise pollution is a problem that requires treatment. Therefore you are being limited in some way. There are rev limiters to prevent the engine from overrevving and blowing up. There are speed limiters to prevent the axles from taking damage over not being able to handle the power. There are also safety concerns over some people driving too fast on the interstate/autobahn.
Semis arent that bad in rain in general. It really depends on the pattern of a specific tire. Some have the minimal tread just to be streetlegal, while others are more daily drivable. Dumb me going 200 in heavy rain on semis in 285 and 305 dimensions on a sports car, luckily was all fine. And they weren't new either, so even less tread. Has nothing to do with quattro of course.
Lets give a thanks to Audi Sports for being so game to join in these spectacular dragraces. I'm also pretty sure both Sebestian and Dindo gets to have alot of fun! I will say my fav guy other than Mat on the show is the guy with the black hair and ponytail. He is always fun. Yanni is also great.
RS3 with some decent tuning are putting out over a thousand horsepower easily and running 9 second quarter miles here in the US. Absolutely beast of an engine
I had two of those three cars in my garage for a while. the '3' is like a bumblebee! But, the V6 in the '5' paired with it's active chassis is a great blend of smoothness and power. Haven't owned a '7'...yet.
Have rented 7 for 2 months and renting a 6 rn, v8 rumble very nicely but not too loud, rarely pops which I like, attacks the road with delicacy, you don’t get the same violent jerk like in a 3 or 5 and the ride quality is so smooth if you’re not looking at the speedo you wouldn’t realize you hit 220 until you turn a corner and the steering is heavy 😂😂 all time RS7 2017 favourite out of the two, beast of a winter car
@@neilmcmahon well yes that is very obvious, im quite used to Audi S and RS models, but in this particular race, it really did look like the guy in the RS5 for whatever reason had to lift off to make sure the RS7 won!
It would be interesting to see how different types of tyres perform in this scenarios on the same car, from like super budget- super performance, then see the differences in 1/4 mile, breaking, etc.
@@sylvaind.6786you’ve been blinded by the internet that’s extremely fast regardless of conditions you’ve spent too long on tiktok and now you think anything that won’t do a 9s quarter mile or doesn’t have 1000hp is slow
Brave! Firstly driving that fast in those conditions. And then i could not believe you brake tested from 100mph with those tyres on so close to the other cars😀
In the thumbnail the rs7 it says that is PERFORMANCE too but in the video you say it’s not a Performance one tho. Cool race in the other hand! Beautiful line-up 💪🏼
The RS3 was obviously at a HUGE disadvantage with those tyres. It would have been much closer in the dry I'm sure. I think given the choice, I'd have the RS3
This is why fast Audis all need to be flash tuned. One, there’s a tonne of power left on the table. Two, soft limiters and top speed limiters are toast.
So the Haldex system traction of RS 3 it’s quite good from all I see here . I had an A 3 2009 with Haldex system ( older one, obviously) and I had nothing to say about this system. The consumption it’s lower than the Torsen but it’s help me just when I need and it does it in a few situations in the winter .
Matt, at the beginning of your video, you said that the RS7 is the NON performance model, so the one with “only” 600 HP! Dindo also presented the car as the 600 HP model! So why the graphic with the RS Performance numbers?!
I thinks it's a little nuts to drag to the 1/2 mile at 160mph to 180mph (in some cars) without a helmet in the dry as anything can happen, but I'm the wet it's even more questionable. Love the channel though!
@@marcelk3847 when the wheels doesn’t have any contact with the floor but the water lifting the car which is losing grip and you just floating and (spinning in the worst cases)
Old days for a Boomer was the 1960s. I'm pretty sure Mat wasn't even born yet. It's funny how people lose track of time and forget that 20 years ago was 2003.
Audi shifted its focus on reliability/luxury more than performance after 2013. Obviously they could have made the factory tune more HP and TQ but what’s the point 😂more HP, less reliability. I have a 2014 Q5 3.0 that’s 272hp stock and after a simple flash and CAI it’s 430hp. Might as well tune any Audi you purchase, except for the A4’s/A5’s
Both models are about to move to a new generation within the next ~12 months -- more power is coming (although they may consolidate the S4/S5 into a single ICE car).
Each of these cars need at least an extra 100-150hp for their next generation. They will all be hybrids and will be even heavier pigs than they are. RS4/5 is going to need 550-600hp+ due to all the weight that the stupid hybrids system they will add.
The Torsen diff is excellent compared to a Haldex diff, which is not suitable for poor weather conditions. My 2019 Q5 came with a Haldex diff, while the 2015 Q5 had a Torsen diff. The Haldex diff always resulted in sliding and a loose steering feel when driving on ice and snow. Consequently, I traded in my 2019 Q5 for a GLE, which has a full-time 4Matic drive without any problematic torque split issues. I've had enough with Audi, and I don't plan to buy one again.
All gorgeous cars but there’s just something a little bit more special looking with the Rs5! It looks incredible when in motion. Way out my price league of £350 per month but I’d have that all day long if I came into money
Was that an RS7 Performance or regular? Mat says it's the non-pref, Dindo says it's the non-perf, but the graphics always show the Performance/Perf Stats!! So which one was it ??
Matt said exactly what I was thinking, Sebastian has some absolutely NASTY launches. Definitely gotta try and have him back on in another Audi drag race!
How are you gonna say ”great video as always” same second he posted the video? the video is 19mins long theres no way you could have watched it already when vid posted 6mins ago
Soft limiters are put in place to protect the engine, be interested to see some stats showing how many engines were damged when soft limiters weren't a thing.
I think you're correct. I had a 2006 S8 with the V10 and it actually said in the handbook not to rev the engine past something like 3,000 rpm whilst stationary to prevent possible damage
Audi s7 owner here with a solution to the soft limiter. Put the car in drive, tap the accelerator pedal so the car rolls very slowly, put it back in neutral and you can rev it all you want. Works for the 2015 model, don't know about newer ones
Audi is the worst of German premium car brands. Audi is a follower, not a leader. The RS models can't compete against competition. Also in terms of innovation, Audi only brought Quattro and that's it. But if you have money, no taste, and love understeer, go ahead, Audi's are for you!
Nice video as always but here is my problem I have been making losses trying to make profit trading. I thought trading demo account is just like trading the real market.. can anyone help me out or at least advise me on what to do
Great races . you run up to 180 km/h on water ???? You are brave. I don't have your experience of driving. The RS5 is my dream car in this category of prices. I remember the RS5 with the V8, 4.2 liters and 450 hp. Thank you for this videos.
