This is how I do it and rumor has it. If you take the spring off like this ,then you can loosen the head pipe take the silencer off and take the shock out through the bottom if needed..

Thanks for video. It's a bit different on my '24 KTM 300XC I noticed. There is a plastic collar on the bottom holding the shock in place instead of a spring clip that comes apart to remove shock spring.
I need to do this method on my '24 GG ex350f. How did you raise the spring sag adjustment rings. Using a punch on those plastic rings is a big no no from what I've heard. Thanks for the video. The owners manual talks of removing rear brake master, swing arm bolt. Etc...
that's how did the rear shock the removal the first time until my friends told I did it the hard way, pull sub frame and lift rear shock right out ......
Pulling the subframe takes much longer. I could remove a spring and replace it with this method in 5 minutes max if I were in a hurry. Are you mixing up removing the shock vs. replacing the spring. Two different things.
