He didn't secure the pants, he only did the Velcro, he didn't tighten suspenders, hands weren't in the jacket cuffs correctly, he doesn't have a hood, he only tightened one of the waist straps on the SCBA, he didn't tighten all four mask straps, he didn't tighten the helmet strap. In a fire he would burn is neck, ears and wrists, his mask wouldn't seal correctly so he'd run out of air faster, his pants can become undone, his helmet would fall off his head, and is air pack would be off center.
Most of the time, you don't tighten the suspenders. As I was taught, your pants won't fall off of you however tight the suspenders are. You want to leave slack in the pants so that they go down almost all the way, so that your legs are better protected.
I love seeing these videos about “how fast guys can put their gear on” but the thing is the gear is laid out all nice and neat. That isn’t how the gear is when you actually put it on, it doesn’t matter how fast you are when your gear is on the floor.
Started on boots already lol 😂 and no flash hood ? Hate seeing these fast videos with everything on the ground. My BC kicks the helmets and gloves away if it’s not attached to our turnout coat or something
sa actual na sunog ..dun nyo gawin maging mabilis kayo kumilos ..wag yung sa harap ng camera mag papasikatan kayo kung sino mabilis..tapos kapag sunog ..nuk nukan ng KUPAD KUMILOS
No hood.. no buttons on coat... not enough clips on jacket/pants.... no belt for harness/ life safety rope... no hood... did he check his seal, cause i don’t remember... helmet prob loose... SCBA was already open, i guess... using air before gloves on... gloves don’t tighten for secure fit... I could go on, but it’s a new year already........
At least for NFPA standards testing airseal is very important it should at least be a 5 second silent count to hear for audible leaks, no balaclava, and personally zipper bunker jacket is just cheating
Next thing he knows he is getting an ass chewing by the chief. The phrase „FIX YOURSELF!“ comes to mind. Fixing this though will probably last about 3 times longer than putting on the gear willy nilly. To cut the guy at least some slack for this otherwise sloppy job: this was a demonstration for the public and they decided to skip a few parts. The general public won’t know the difference and will just be impressed with how quickly you can throw on that gear. Thy won’t care about airtight masks and missing flash hoods. Many won’t even know that you are supposed to wear a flash hood. In my view though, why not go all the way and use this opportunity to get in some training?
fail no hood gloves where not put on properly helmet was not tightened scba was not secure pants where not put on properaly suspenders where not adjusted and coat was not fully secured
