Very impressive, well done sirs, almost as fast as the dynamic soaring gliders here in southern California, they're doing over 300 mph, search dynamic soaring, Parker Ridge, Acton Ca. There's a hill I think, in Cajon Pass too. But your birds kick ass!!! Very impressive!!!

Thanks! But the physics of flying a circle via FPV at 300mph are bonkers, you would be looking at the sky for half the loop, and by the time you saw the ground, the latency in control and video would mean that you were already about to start the next lap before the control input even affected the plane! It would be impossible!

Nice flight!!!! Have you ever tried the eflite 6 series 2700kv? Building one now with a castle 60a esc and 4s 2600mah 100c zop power, hopefully i will get 130mph or so. Should have gone with your setup, especially the 200a esc

The motor has a short and merry life! But every record-breaking vehicle has its power source pushed to the limits. Motor power rating is usually decided based upon temperatures, efficiency and life expectancy. 1900 Watts is really only a safe guideline proposed by the manufacturer. At three times full rated power, things will break quite quickly, and power efficiency will be low, mainly producing more heat rather than more thrust. It's the laws of Physics. Nicely flown though! Faster than a Bugatti Veyron.

Yeah, that would be bad! We do a lot of range testing and equipment tests before flying...and the equipment is kept VERY simple to reduce the chance of possible failures.

Don't always believe the numbers! 3s is just a suggestion. Any motor will run on any voltage, it is just for how long. This plane only runs a short time. It also said 100a max, but this motor will hold 300a.

Yeah boi :-) Around 300a depending on the pack :-)..funnily enough, the 3k mah Graphenes give more amps (300a) with a low voltage (18v), but the 4k mah Graphene gives 270-280a at a higher voltage (19v)...strange seeing the lower amps coming from the bigger pack...but voltage = rpm, so the 4k mah wins anyway..:-)

I just built a Still racer HET Typhoon inrunner 2W-20 3400 KV 4.7x4.7 prop rotating 33k rpm 3S lipo did a few test and after seeing you with safety glasses on yeah I will be wearing safety glasses the next time I do that as well. Can't replace an eye if that prop shattered at that RPM flesh wound will heal up.

How were you able to pull over 300 amps from a 200A ESC? It looks like your reading that current coming out of the battery. If so are you only putting 200A to the motor?

Hi, the J10 was sold ages ago, but it had a HET 1W40 in an EFlite 5 blade fan on 6s / 200a. Only around 150mph though..

@@scottthompson2481 A great fan with plenty of shove is the Changesun XRP14, makes an AWESOME noise too, the most 'jet' sounding EDF I have ever heard. I have a Vampire with that fan and a DR mad Thrust 2600kv 28mm in runner. Again 200a 6s, probably even slightly slower, but so much static thrust. Hi, I got it from EBAY. It is 40x40x11mm multi finned. You must sand the base flat on a piece of glass with fine paper, also with the FET's on the ESC too, so the surfaces mate very closely together. It will transfer heat much better this way. I used a VERY thin layer of 2 part thermal epoxy to stick it on www.ebay.co.uk/itm/151826112844?hash=item23598aa14c:g:sHQAAOSwBMpcSb2D

Depends on which motor / prop etc, but for 265mph: 1 minute of cruise, and around 15-20 seconds of full throttle and the battery is empty. With the slower motor, 360kmh/220mph: 1 minute cruise, 1 minute full throttle.

It will fly around 10km on this motor/battery...it covers 1KM every 8 seconds at full speed. But with a small motor and li-ion batteries it would fly for 1-1.5 hours and 80-100km if that was what you wanted.

Would it be fair to say that its not pulling 300A in the air as it is on the ground? just curious...

Almost definitely less than 300 in the air. The battery only sustains 300 for a very short time anyway. But the prop RPM actually goes down when the plane starts to move and the prop grips the air rather than running stalled, so there may be a spike at that point. I do not run anything that is not critical to flying, so no current sensor, no FC etc as it is less to go wrong... I am running the biggest battery I am comfortably landing with and running that battery as high output as it can cope with without catching fire, so current measurements are purely academic at this point.

Very similar from a distance, but close up it is a much better design. The wings are much thinner and the frontal area is around half that of a Funjet...and around 40mph faster for the same motor.

@@CRAIGBYRD1 The Fusion should have a motor mounting plate bonded into the back? Is it just open?? If it is open, you will need to cut a circular mount from Carbon plate with motor holes and cooling holes and bond it in with epoxy having sanded the inside of the fuselage.

Awesome! So, the battery outputs up to 8.5 kW (130C) and the motor takes 1.9 kW (burst). Your peak power was 6 kW?

Battery gives 300a @19-20v (only the Graphene) for 1-2 seconds and drops to around 270-250a cont., the motor takes all of that, though it is only rated for 80a cont. A LOT of heat is generated, so not all 6kw gets to the prop...prob 1kw+ lost on the way...

How high it can fly. 10 km or 12 km is that possible? Please answer

Probably about 2 or 3km.. built for speed not altitude. But if you built the same plane just to go high, you could likely go 8-10km high.

How would it fly with a flight controller (stabillity)?

Difficult to tune. The speed range is enormous, it would need GPS/airspeed referenced adjustment of gain in the controller, maybe that will come in the future. I also keep everything as simple as possible to reduce the number of things to go wrong. Thanks for watching!
