This video is very much a bit of fun, Joshua Weissman is make food content of the highest quality so nothing but respect for him, we just thought it be fun to see how fast we could make a hack version for combination fried rice (known as special fried rice or Yung chow fried rice here in the UK), yes we cheated and didn’t cook the rice and use packet rice, which is OK but fully use overnight rice if you can. Please take this for the fun it is, in no way are we saying we’re quicker or better than Joshua, so get that out of your head now, and we love the fact he will use MSG, so he has massive respect from us. If you’d like us to do more videos like this then you need to comment and let us know. Also I know this sound like a cop out, but if we had our induction cookers we used to use on the channel, this would of been done 3/4 minutes faster, it's just they cost £300 each and the point is to be able to do our recipes at home.

Hi guy's im 61 now and started butchery and back then i got a diploma in butchery, I cook tons and have a real passion for cooking, I brought both of your Bibles and ive never looked back since, I now cook so much of recipes and buy the spices and sources that you recommend, if anyone reads this you need to buy there cook books and they are just amazing and it's all printed in layman's turn and i highly recommend it.

Sounds like a cool video idea I just had some beef chow mein for lunch today with.... MSG loads of MSG I love it haha :) Although some MSG deniers might hate on me its harmless get over it!

I don’t get the hate of MSG. The “journalist” that made the story about it admitted it was a joke and not true, but somehow it stuck. I use MSG in many things at home, but it’s critical for Chinese food, or it just doesn’t taste right. It’s great in lasagne, it brings out the tomato and beef flavours nicely.

Saved this to my FOOD playlist, never heard of Joshua Weissman but I know you & your mum have taught me how to make awesome fried rice. Now have spring onions growing out back to have them on hand and raw prawns in the freezer. I do $1 chicken kebabs in the oven (20 mins), chop them up and add them just as fried rice is ready. 💞It's Magic !!💞

I saw the Josh Weissman vid and loved that! BUT I LOVE THIS 😍😍 Especially as I'd just finished eating egg-fried rice (your way) with left over chicken with a few chilis added. PS. The rice cooker has CHANGED my cooking life. No more 'babysitting' the rice. LOVE IT 😁😁

I wish the fried rice in my town was like that, putting it bluntly its shit. I instead use your book which I bought digitally because I'm in Australia and make my own. Doesn't take too long and it is great.

I need to calm down with the egg mix. You just add salt & msg, and I've been adding those plus black pepper, white pepper and sometimes a herb or two and a bit of heat. Simple is better. I get it.

I wouldn’t say better, I always liken it to bacon, sometimes just bacon and butter in a sandwich hits hardest, but other times, sauces, cheese and egg etc are what I’m wanting, it’s about understanding simple is sometime just as good 😊

I usually add a level teaspoon of Knorr Chicken Powder in my fried rice. Takes the flavour up a notch 👍

Time, it the idea is tounge in cheek, but it was to show there was no pre prep at all, I didn’t need to cook rice etc, from start to finish less than 12 minutes

Good video but Using the same hand, even if wearing a glove or utensils to handle raw chicken and then touch other raw foods like prawns can potentially lead to cross-contamination and increase the risk of foodborne illnesses. I know it’s just a video but safety should always be first, especially when trying to teach people how to cook.

As someone with a lv 4 in food health and safety (chefs only need lv 2), i used one glove for raw meat/ the seas food and then changed it for veg, which then you can use to then cook with, cross-contamination only matters if if your not cooking, all the ingredients straight away, I followed proper protocol, this is just a pointless and pedantic comment

When rice is cooked just run under the cold tap until cold . Theres no need to refrigerate overnight
