That's completely intended and everyone knows why. There's one hitbox for champions and another for walls, it clearly shows on precast. The wall hitbox is much thinner so in this case, the hook goes past the wall and hits the edge of his champion hitbox. But naut can't pull himself through the walls unlike thresh, so he stays there.
I do agree that it is pretty unacceptable for Riot to not have this fixed by now, but I don't think that means it's ok to abuse the bug in RANKED games of all things (and, for the record, I wouldn't even think it's acceptable in normal games. Better, but not acceptable.) This is absolutely bug abusing and it should be punished. I wouldn't give spear and INSTANTLY perma-ban, but probably a day long ban with a message "hey, if you do this one more time, bye." Or maybe 2 more times, cuz mistakes can happen. as for it being a "feature"..... no. The only difference between something being a bug and a feature is intent. Riot did not intend to add this, and there is no statement from them that they intend to keep it. Idk why they haven't fixed it, but that is a far-cry from them saying "we think it's a good thing to have a mechanic where one or 2 champions in particular can have a massively unfair impact on the game." And if they ever make that statement, then dear god, I hope everyone would quit the game because holy shit that would be the worst decision ever made. BUT, until we get a formal statement from Riot that is like that, it's not a feature, it's a bug.
Why? First this isnt competitive play, its just soloQ. Second plenty have told Riot, they arent doing anything. If you truly want a bug fixed, convince a pro player to perform the bug in an actual professional tournament match, i guarantee that’ll make riot fix it. Vandiril’s channel is full of bugs like this that nobody sorts out until pro players break the game live.

9:35 i realy think that riot make the numbers random or they just dont know math or they give any dmg a "range" like if you deal 5 so its actualy randomized between 3-7 smthing like that. i tried to see if darius had a hidden dmg rune and didnt find. so in conclusion, riot randomize the dmg within range and make you die on purpose
