Im no doctor but i do know humans two distinct advantages that no other land animal has. 1) we can pick up heavy stuff and carry it across great distances. 2) we can run/jog further than any other land animal without stopping. Ben your great example of the second. I think my best time was around 7 hours. Im no endurance runner but ill carry 60 pounds over this traverse without breaking much of a sweat... even in january...
