Thanks so much for this! For years I have used Steam Backups for extra large games and the backup process usually takes 35-40 minutes - your method only takes 5 mins - so good!
I'm about to buy a game, is it possible for me to transfer the game I buy to another guy's pc, he also buys the same, but doesn't have WiFi to download it. .....plz help
@@sashimj2918 yes this is possible, you have to have either an external hard drive or a usb to transfer it to your pc. I recommend you to look up how to transfer steam games (if that's what you are getting it from)
DUDE thank you so much, I have horrible internet at home, so while I was out at a hotel I downl0oaded warzone onto a laptop and I've finally gotten it onto my Desktop. THANK YOU for this video.
This will come in very handy when I build my new system. I have all my steam games on a separate m.2 from my boot m.2, so this method will be easy to do.
Thanks, my man. I tried this on a game on my hard drive that hasn't been updated for a very long time, and it worked perfectly. I did this because I don't want to update my game on an HDD because it will take too long. So this method is a great way to transfer games without the need to update them.
Ty very much! You've explained everything very briefly and perfectly. To make things better, even your voice is amazing haha. Keep up the good work and thanks again!
great info, so if I wanted to move a entire library from one drive to another same process just move all the game folders and manifest files to the new drive
This still works in almost 2021. The trick was the .acf file. I went through several written instructions on how to copy this and Steam kept deleting the game and starting over. Copying the proper .acf file from the SteamApps folder as well as copying the game from the Common folder works! Thank you so much!
I believe I"m having this problem with the ACF file name. I cant copy without the file changing to a TXT file. doing so the file no longer works as an ACF file. Anybody have an idea what I may be doing wrong? to me it should be just copy paste. it always pastes as a TXT file though.
Thanks so much! My WiFi at home sucks and my friend had the game I bought but didn't download so I just copied it and did what you did which helped alott
Steam backup tool is really useless, I got an older backup and trying to restore it, end up downloading 25%, OK it´s updates, but after that I got corrupted files messages and it want to download 100% again. Now I´m copying as you said and it´s workin, easier, faster and more reliable way. Thanks
Thank you!!! Finally. My PC wasn't working for weeks (Start Manu critical error) so the only way was to delete the old user and make a new one. You helped a lot!
Thanks so much i had to replace my drive becuase it was failing and i was easily able to do this method and steam backup tool wasnt working but this method worked better and i didnt have to wait hours to reinstall my games thanks alot
