I love this video. I know exactly what this is like. This happened to me about 20 years ago crossing Fforch-orky farmland in the Rhondda (a shortcut to join trails). It was wet and I slipped lifting the bike over, dropping it onto the triple-strand fence. It has a high voltage pulse simply designed to pen sheep in who dare venture towards the perimeter. Bit was tangled in it! After about the sixth shock your bones really hurt from your palms (at first) right past your elbows. Due to the bike being soaked there was nothing to insulate the electrical charge, but it's so high it'd be hard enough even in the dry to totally prevent a shock. They're a right bastard! 😂 I totally feel for the guy whose bike it was! And having your mates pissing themselves with laughter doesn't help much either. Took a team effort for a couple of my mates to scoop bike up with feet and kick it off while I was practically hunched up in pain from multiple electric shocks. ⚡️

Love this video it makes me laugh every time I watch it, especially the 'conversation' with the sheep early on! It is amazing how many armchair experts there are out there who clearly have never dealt to electric fences. Battery fencers do NOT make a loud 'crack' like that one; that is a mains unit and these can easily drive 5000V at 30A. You won't short the fence out by earthing it with a piece of wire. In damp conditions (the UK most of the time) you will get a decent shock off ANY part of the bike (as witnessed). Cycling gloves, the grips and the seat are designed to be comfortable, not electrical insulators you would need some of the special gloves that linesmen use when working 'live'. The fencing unit could be a mile or two away and you would have to follow all/many of the farmer's fences to find it, could take an hour or two. The connection next to the stile is not a quick-disconnect of any sort. It is either bolted on (need an insulated spanner) or twisted on (need insulated pliers).

That's the funniest thing I've seen in a while. I used to work at a riding stable and test the fences every night and always forgot my tester so I used to just touch it and after a few weeks I got addicted to 110v. And yes wet wood carries current, awesome guys thanks for sharing.
