It doesn't even have a proper cup holder. Sorry to hear the timing belt broke. Yeah, these are interference engines and the timing belt needs to be replaced every 100,000 km or maybe 10 years. My 27 year old Hijet had the timing belt replaced at 47,000 km. It has 75,000 km on the odometer and I should probably replace it again. You're a brave man to drive a mini truck on a 2+ hour journey. Mine is strictly for around town use.
Kei cars or trucks by japanese law have to be smaller than 11.2' L x 4.9' W x 6.6' H. So yeah will always be a tight fit, but some models have a Jumbo Cab option which is a bit more spacious.
