That is not true, joe gave plenty of pun's royalty checks to pun's family, but liza rios sadly released that DVD hurt the legacy of pun and it also damaged the friendship with liza and joe as well.

Big difference to have an indie label behind you than Joey Crack, who was already a legend. It was a different era. Everybody needed somebody to get on, especially in hip-hop. It's not like today where you can upload a track and be on top of the world in a few weeks. That's why it was all crews back then. You had Terror Squad, Ruff Ryders, Murda Inc, Bad Boy, G-Unit, Roc a Fella etc. Pun would've needed a cosign from somebody to get on. Fat Joe was the best fit.
