Many people have said. " I only eat junk food when I'm drunk". One bad choice leads to another

I entered rehab on July 28th. I've been sober ever since. Best feeling ever.

It does not matter if you can't move like you did at 25. You can still do something healthy and energetic that builds muscle. Count your blessings by giving thanks for all the parts of your body that still work well.

WOW!! You look awesome!! I just went back to your Day 3 and you really see a BIG improvement today vs. when you started. I'm Bob, 59 years old and drank heavily for 4 plus decades and most recently 7-12 beers each night and as i'll turn 60 in May of this year, i started the DRY January yesterday and it was my first night Sober in several weeks and i hope night number two tonight goes well and beyond. I really want to lose weight and get back to the old me as i am 240 lbs now and was 185 in my 40's and i want to at least get back to 195, so i have to lose 45 lbs to achieve that Goal. I may have set the Bar too high, but i'm really serious this time. Best wishes for you moving forward and i'm glad i found your channel as i'm a Fresh new subscriber. Happy New Year!! Have a great Monday! -Bob

Hey Bob! Kudos to you for finding the strength and courage to take the leap to a better new you! I was about 215 pounds when I started this on July 27th. Today I stepped on the scale and weighed in at 180. That's 35 pounds down in just over 5 months. I made the decision to excercise and eat healthy at the same time. I found that simply counting calories and maintaing a calorie deficet is the answer for me. Once you start seeing the results of the weight loss after a couple of months it is so motivating and really helps keep you off the alcohol. Not to mention how much better you are going to start to feel! Glad you found my channel and all the best to you on this exciting journey!

Since quitting alcohol I decided to get back into inline skating. It was something that was a big part of my life before I started drinking, and I've always missed it. Since going sober I suddenly realised "what's stopping me?" so I treated myself to a really nice pair of skates and got back into it. It's such good exercise, I'm burning off the calories. In the new year my next goal is to get my eating habits in check. I'm also slowly getting back into yoga. I highly reccomend giving yoga a try!

Nice! I used to snowboard like a mad man. I'm thinking about getting back to the slopes this season!

Day 8 sober for me today after 20 years of heavy drinking daily. Currently dealing with daily headaches and anxiety... One day at a time...

Hang in there! The first month can be a bit of a roller coaster of ups and downs, but it gets so much easier and better in month 2, 3 and so on. The process just needs time and can't be rushed, which is hard for us drinkers to accept because we're so used to that false "instant gratification" that alcohol seems to give us. The headaches and anxiety passed for me after 2 or 3 weeks.

congrats bro! you look great and I bet you feel great too! yeah, i'm trying not to get too crazy with carbs and i'm trying to do no added sugar as well. i find that challenging but the benefits from no sugar has been great too. cheers!!

Thanks! Yeah, I watched a youtube video about what added sugar in foods does to your red blood cells. Made it easy to quit once I understood the science behind it.

IF is definitely a powerful tool...Been doing it for 10 years+...anywhere from 16/8 to 22/2...IF also forces your body to look for energy in the body's energy stores to compensate. Also for those who primarily work a desk job...look into something called a desk cycle...I use one about an hour to 90 min a day...track my progress just with my garmin fenix 7x watch just for heart rate to get a base calculation for calories used...use it to really build up my zone 2/zone 3 to build up my aerobic capacity then use zwift to test my zone 4/5 performance. I find zwift for cardio really motivates as it tracks pretty much all aspects of your performance. And weight lifting...I stick to heavy compound exercises. Really started focusing on this in the last 6 weeks...down 11 pounds and it's addictive...seeing the progress. And it's true...u then think or look at a beer and all you think about is the 90 min of effort that will take to burn off that bottle of wine or whatever

First time I've really tried IF. Seems to fit me and my new lifestyle well. Looks to have lots of health benefits from the research I've read on it too. I dig it!

The intermittent fasting is great for the body and weight loss, but pretty much impossible to do while drinking. Either the drinking ruins it, or the late night eating, or the hangover junk food binges. Life is so much healthier without alcohol.
@sauceainttheboss
@sauceainttheboss Год назад
Yeah, wish I had tried it years ago, but as you said, no way I could have done it as a drinker. I used to get so flippin hungry from the alcohol and I would just binge eat like a freak right before bed! LOL!

I went from 195 to 165 since I quit drinking 17 months ago. I eat healthier and I walk the treadmill and ride the bike 4 times a week. Drinking alot of water and pissing all the time but its worth it 😂

If only I knew how easy it would be, it’s been over 2 years and I don’t have any cravings at all, for me the key difference was that I didn’t suffer withdrawal, not even within the first 30 days after go’ogling and following Steffon Barkload’s advice and quitting because I just wanted to.
