Hats off too Glenn Close playing that thankless role so fantastically. She was vice president in the movie Air Force One with Harrison Ford. Fantastic acting there too.
Girl 😂😂. She tried to kill that nice lady, take her whole family . Thank God for their BLK 🙏🏾 👑 handy man that helped save them! Guess he wasn't so slow after all. Damn shame what ppl will do when they want your life THAT BAD
At 36:13 when the wife gets on the phone and says, "This is Beth Gallagher, if you ever come near my family again, I will kill you, you understand." I remember the audience in the theater erupted in applause and cheers.
But with the original ending that was not used, that would've just been an empty threat. In the original, when Dan tells Beth that Alex is dead, she gasps, and starts to cry. Basically she would NOT have really killed her, Beth just wanted her to stay away.
One thing about the film I noticed over the years is the use of water. It rains when they first meet, they splash water on themselves when they are having sex in the kitchen, she drinks water after he chokes her out, then there's the epic bathtub scene in the end.
The 80s had some of the best thriller movies in film history. I was a kid when Fatal Attraction came out, and I will tell you that it was ALL THE RAGE!!!
@@SistaGurlonFilms LOL. The 80s was a very special decade. It was a decade where there was a perfect balance of innovation in technology, no social media, the economy recovered from the 70s and everyone had money to spend “the big 80s” and there was such variety in music, fashion, and from the Olympics to the NFL, sports was at its peak in legendary talent. Also, there were so many fun things to do. Video arcades, skating rinks amusement parks, the MALL, concerts. Everything was just surreal and the BOMB. In that decade.
This movie literally scared so many cheating men back then. I didn't know nothing about this movie growing up. Then one night i happen to turn it on it was on a tv channel. And man it had me hooked from beginning. Glenn killed this role.
And I can see how considering Dan was the typical cheating jerk! And if Alex hadn't turned out to be a psycho, he would've absolutely cheated with her again. This movie was a great cautionary tale!
Great reaction! He deserved it all, but his wife and daughter sure didn't. That movie should have been a lesson to all the cheaters of the world, but yet they keep on cheating.
It did scare a lot of men when it came out. They absolutely thought more about their decisions but as the movie faded away from their memories cheaters went right back to cheating lol
In the original ending Alex was gonna slit her throat and Dan would've been framed for murdering Alex because his fingerprints were on the knife but his wife shows the proof that Alex was harassing Dan with the tape. Also there was no confirmation that Alex was actually was pregnant
I saw this in the movie theater when it first came out and in a slow part I went to use the restroom. Outside the theater were three guys, all in suits and they were all huffing on cigs and looking really stressed out! Back in the days where you could smoke right outside the theater there was a ashtray. I chuckled as I walked by them. This movie was the horror of all horrors for guys who cheat. It was a HUGE movie, one where word of mouth spread like wildfire. It's such a great movie though. I still love it. Loved your reactions!
@@SistaGurlonFilms only because Glenn was made to be the villian! Like lynn Whitfield in thin line which you read for filth with Martin's dirty azz lol
@@blackBrainySmurfAlex is the villain. She pretended to be discreet at first then flipped when he tried to leave. She used her pregnancy as a trap and my theory is she’s messed with married men before by saying, “why are the interesting ones always married,” and saying she had a bad miscarriage the year before. Alex was always with the mess.
I’ll never understand why people willingly get involved with married people. It usually always never ends well but in heartbreak. That married person is usually just looking to have a little fun cause they’ve become bored with their wife but at the end of the day, they return back to their families.
Omg I love you!!! Lol Also, when this movie came out, in the late 80s, everyone was on his side, like he was an innocent bystander! It takes a fresh perspective and a new view to see just how complex this really is. Afterall, he was the one married, not her. And although she is "special", he really is the one to blame for genesis of all this. And it's amazing to me how back in the day he turned out to be a martyr!
There are people in this comment section right now still saying Dan is the victim. It is crazy that some people would think Alex was 100% at fault and Dan just made one small mistake. Alex did not have to be so crazy but Dan was not innocent
I'm not going to be Ig-Nored!!! Yeah, that film was nuts for certain. Always glad to see someone look at it and just say DAMM to almost every scene for the first time, lol Also, if I can, let me suggest Unlawful Entry. It starred Kurt Russell and the late, great Ray Liotta.
I absolutely love your attitude and how you respond to certain situations. You remind me of my big sister and her best friend. This is my first time watching your video which is this one and I have to say I'm quite impressed. Lol 😂 I like listening to a strong willed person like you responding to scary/ suspenseful situations like this.
They were both wrong, but my gripe is with the husband. He's the one that took the vows. Basically, she could have been anybody, just there for his enjoyment.
7:17 •Disapproving Salsa💃🏻 😂I’m dead!🤣 ALL of your commentary was amazing! I’ve *never* laughed watching this movie before!😅 Thank you! So happy I found your channel!😁
I was so torn! The music that was actually playing during that scene was amazing and I could not help but dance. But I was also pissed at them just frolicking on a date while he was fully married! 😂😂😂 I'm happy you found me too!!! Thank you for watching! 💕💕
Another one you should consider doing next is Unfaithful from 2002. It’s by the same director and it was the first film that really opened my eyes to the tragic affects of cheating.
@SistaGurlonFilms At Alex, dam girl you have your own career, independence and sex appeal....who does this after spending a f*ck feast after 1 weekend. Even a single man doesn't want no thirsty ass woman!
A scarily accurate portrayal of Borderline Personality Disorder of the highest order. Glenn Close was incredible in this. Another great with her is The World According to Garp, which also stars Robin Williams (IIRC this was his first dramatic role) and the amazing John Lithgow.
I love your passion. And the memes and humour music!😆 I am deeeed💀! Film is great with delivering on intensity. Also Glenn Close tho the villain was presented as/ gave you multilayered. Just shows you REALLY don't know who you be picking up. Btw think he really missed wife coz he wanted some normal 17:00
Thank you so much!!!! And after that weekend from hell, he definitely wanted to get back to normal. Too late for that buddy! You have a psycho on your hands now! 😂😂😂
Its weird because the slasher parts of the film didn't really bother me when I first watched as a teenager but the scene where Alex reveals to Dan that she's slashed her wrists was triggering and hit way too close to home for me as a (former) self-mutilator. I to this day, including watching this video where I turned the volume down, actively avoid watching that part of the film because of how traumatic the first time watch of that scene was. Its also why I can understand how Glenn Close fought so hard to keep the original ending, which would seem more consistent with Alex as a character throughout the rest of the film...
First, I'm sorry to hear that scene was triggering for you. I absolutely should have put a trigger warning on the video. Thank you for bringing that to my attention. Secondly, I absolutely agree that the original ending would have been better and all the foreshadowing would have made a larger impact in the film. Thank you for watching! 💕💕
Here's my thoughts. You just wouldnt go after married men and that's what Alex did, at the same time what Dan did to Beth cheating on her was completely unforgivable and disgusting. Alex became more crazy as the movie went on, killing the rabbit, kidnapping Ellen and trying to stab Beth. She was completely off her head and became obsessive over Dan. I'm surprised Beth took her husband back because if I were in her position it's a 100% no no. No second chances. I sympathised for her and Ellen the most in the film. They didn't deserve it. Glenn Close was excellent for this role. Alex had Boderline Personality Disorder which explained her behaviour. It's good they highlighted it in this movie.
Yes, Beth took Dan back toward the end of the movie. However, we don't know what will become of them now that Alex is dead. Certainly, Dan and Beth will have lots of issues to work out. Also, I don't know if Beth would be able to trust Dan again.
I saw both the original ending and the movie ending and I thought both.of them were good.in different ways. Alex commiting suicide showed quite a dark tone to the story. Beth killing Alex was a satisfying conclusion.
For more thrillers check out the following; The Fan 1981, Cape Fear 1991, Raising Cain 1992, Unlawful Entry 1992, Single White Female 1992 and The Hand That Rocks the Cradle 1992 to name a few. Cool reaction! :)
Still an effective thriller. Do you think we learn...no. Lol. Do treat yourself to the original Clint Eastwood directed and starred in "Play Misty for Me", that preceded this 15 years or so earlier back in the early 70's. Just as hot mess crazy.
@@SistaGurlonFilms it's interesting. It takes place 15 years after Alex's death. I don't want to spoil it. Lots of timelines, new characters, flashbacks but it definitely follows the original.
Wonderful and hilarious reaction 😆 🤣 😄 😂 ❤ He deserved everything he got but his wife and child did not at all Wonderfully well acted by Glenn Close who should have won Best Actress that year at the Oscars and by Michael Douglas and Anne Archer
Thank you for watching!!! True, he didn't know but sometimes there are consequences to dishonoring those vows. His wife and child definitely didn't deserve to suffer because of his actions but Dan deserved a lot of what he got
I dont inderstand this thinking. Your welcome i enjoyed watching it very much...i understand its the first instinct, but he did nit deserve her psychosis, he did not deserve her stocking her threatening her . While no one believed him. No one deserves these things they are crimes and we cannot excuse this behaviour of alexs ..like i said i dont agree he deserved any of her actions in any way at all @SistaGurlonFilms
Girl Sis, before Fatal Attraction and Obsessed... there was a flick called "Play Misty for Me" from 1971 with Clint Eastwood. It's the OG of stage clinger crazy bish of movies.
I did notice how Alex and Beth were so different. Even down to one being a blonde and the other a brunette. I have a feeling Alex wasn't Dan's first affair
My parents were in their early 30s when this movie came out, but my mom always said if my dad did that to her, she would divorce him. Unfaithful from 2002 is by the same director and it's a reversal of genders.
BPD is not spoken about a lot but it is a very challenging disorder especially if someone is trying to navigate life undiagnosed. I hope that your journey gets better and better for you ❤️
1987 was the year of some great films The untouchables Fatal attraction Robocop Predator Beverly hills cop 2 No way out ...Btw u should check out no way out starring kevin Costner gene hackman and will patton. Its another in the thriller genre. Also a perfect murder is another good one!
She was too shook! Did all that tough talking over the phone but was speechless when Alex showed up to the crib! She did make good on her word though and killed that heffa!
@@SistaGurlonFilms In a way, that seems true. However, we only see what happens at the end of the film. We have no idea what will happen to them afterward. Will they able to work things out for the sake of Ellen? Certainly, Beth will probably not be able to trust Dan anymore. For that matter, there is no guarantee that the marriage will last or that Dan would not stray again.
The original ending IS on RU-vid. I have watched it and I think they should have stayed with that ending. In fact, Glenn Close strongly felt that they should have stayed with the original ending.
