Its really tragic when you ask him about the grail. The kind of laugh he's giving is the kind a man makes when he's hit the bottom of the barrel, can't see the light anymore and just laughs at the futility. He laughs because of all the agony in his life that came from that stupid fucking cup, and how his master asks him if he had a wish for it. Yeah he does, to fucking die
Robert Ciamei to do that I would wish for the grail to erase anything about him in the Root and then I will kill him. Only reincarnation can save him now.
@@senakumo1149 2 years late but i think saving emiya is just freeing him from the throne of heroes and actually dying to go to the after life since he sacrificed that too
@@dj0033 In the end the grail is pretty limited as we saw in Fate/Zero, It can't do something you can't comprehend. Emiya himself doesn't know how to free himself so I really don't think the grail can do something. Even if it can... its gonna be pretty twisted
1. The grail had nothing to do with his agony. And if it did through some mental gymnastics, it's really his own fault and blaming it on the grail(which both emiya and his alter DON'T do or mention at all in their backstories) is just being a petty baby 2. He shouldn't even remember hinself as a master anymore
This is by far the most broken EMIYA I've seen yet. He needs a hug, really he needs a hug has anyone seen Illya? Her onichan really needs a hug with extra sugar.
@@Mythos66 not sure if you don't understand me or is joking but what I meant that the illya that sitonai use as a host is from f/sn timeline,a.k.a the older one
People talk about how he gets progressively more broken as you ascend him, but what I don't think a lot of people realize is that it appears as though the "cracks" that were already in him get progressively mended in the image of a japanese method of repairing ceramics called Kintsugi, where you mix laquer with gold dust to make beautifully repaired pottery.
He IS getting better emotionally... But he's also breaking apart. His interlude says so explicitly. Eventually there will be no other option but to put him down for good.
El no es tsundere, el es sinico, perones tan honesto e indiferente qie parece sarcastico, el de hecho es mucho mas honesto que archer, aunque menos amable ya que es muy desinteresado e indiferente con todo.
How Shirou sees Emiya: Me that I don't want to be How Emiya sees Shirou: Naive self How Emiya Alter sees Emiya: unspoiled self How Emiya Alter sees Shirou: pathetic self
clement goh How Kiritsugu sees Emiya Alter: Damn son. How Irisviel sees Emiya Alter: Lets take a bath in that mud. How Ilya sees Emiya Alter: Scary >o< How Kuro sees Emiya Alter: I'll protect him!
they have the most complex alternate self like seriously, hell the whole family is pretty complex shirou to emiya emiya to shirou alter to emiya emiya to alter you already summarise kiritsugu(assasin) to illiyasvel (his wive)(caster?) = kill target illiyasvel to kiritsugu = must protect emiya to ilya = watch over ilya to emiya = stalker kuro to ilya = kill (at first), younger sister (later) ilya to kuro = younger sister ilya and kuro to shirou = love shirou to ilya = younger sister emiya to kuro = stranger kuro to emiya = big brother alternate self imagine if a certain nameless archer and a certain big brother meet emiya and shirou and you find yourself a kind and naive, cynical hating self, cynical not hating self, a kind yet not so naive individual of the same existence
Considering EMIYA as unspoilt (someone who was trapped in an endless cycle of nonstop murder for the sake of humanity the moment he made that pact with the counterforce and whose only temporal escape from that hell are situations like FGO and Grail Wars where the grail has been tempered with and thus can summon entities not normally accessible) just goes to show HOW broken and even more of a lost case Alter is. It's so crazy you can't even make light of it.
I think it’s more about the process. EMIYA was unspoilt before he became a heroic spirit even choosing to let himself be hanged for the sake of the people and his own ideals while DEMIYA chose almost the same route but during one of his journeys,he encountered Kiara and her cult where he had no choice but to commit genocide even going as far as to killing taiga who joined the cult and going down the kiritsugu route
1:21 Ishtar: "Umm, why do I suddenly feel a chill down my spine?" Sitonai: "I suddenly feel a pain in my heart..." Parvati: "I don't get you two, I feel nothing."
That Bond 5 line man, right on the feels :'( and it seems he knows that the original Emiya still wants to kill his old self and now the original Emiya wanted to kill his old self and his future self, its kinda sad that he now rejects both the past and the future of himself....
EDIT: Heard somewhere the "Mind of Steel" part might just be fanon, I am very sorry. Actually in the Seraph arc it's been heavily insinuated that EMIYA Alter is Mind of Steel!Shirou that somehow later learnt about Kiara and thinking she's going to become dangerous to the world just like Sakura broke into the base of the cult and tried to kill her, only resulting in him killing her followers and for her to commit suicide when he reached her. In other words, even though from the looks of it EMIYA Alter is older in years he is not EMIYA's future self, but rather an alternative future self.
It is... It's also one of the many self-contradictions of F/GO considering that, from what we've seen in the event that include him ), normal EMIYA seems to have memories, both as Shirou and EMIYA from many other timelines of F/SN and F/Extra and he even knows a few things from Apocrypha, not to mention he also treated as Nameless sometimes from Nero and Tamamo, so him not being prepared (and he really wasn't) for EMIYA Alter sounds a bit weird... Then again those Events are kind of weird so maybe they're not made to be treated as canon, but rather as fillers, though servants maintaining their memories, even from previous HGW where their memories should have been erased, is something not so unusual in F/GO.
In the Saber Wars he knew everything about Astolfo gaining a human life... and he even called it "a really big IF", implying that he knew how different the Apocrypha world was from his and F/GO's.
Also, I was reminded, he's the only Emiya who doesn't have his own theme remix. I mean, Emiya and Shirou each have several, Illya has one, Chloe has one, even Muramasa has one (and he's not implemented).

I really want to punch Alaya for that. Hmm..... theory time: What if we managed to convince the entire population of humanity to punch themselves at the same time, would that have an impact on Alaya? I wonder....
fat loser 69 but they are basically the same person. Same as shiro and emiya. May be the same but diffrnet dimensions. Anyways. Who is your favorite boy and girl. Mine is emiya and Chloe. They are so amazing and look cool
@@adikkuchan To be fair, Kerry isn't really a hero. He's a killer. Kerry's dark side is his assassin side so his alter side would ironically be a good guy.
Ayato Shirokami The CCC event details his fall from grace, while the prevailing fan-theory is that this Emiya is the same from the Heart of Steel bad ending from the VN.
He got tasked of defeating and eliminating Kiara and her followers, but he got numb and spoiled because Kiara's followers were innocent people just being dragged by her cult. He killed countless innocent people to defeat evil, imagine that
I believe this is mind of steel Shirou. A Shirou who decided to kill Sakura in Heaven's Feel Route, then went on to kill Illya and Rin to stop the holy Grail war. Honestly this is the outcome if Shirou doesn't follow Archer's advise and still hopes to become a Hero, compared to him Archer (Emiya) and Kiritsugu are saints. Truly Emiya family is walking tragedy
I thought this Emiya wws gonna be a gangster pure evil version of him, but nope a more broken and depressed Emiya that lost everything of who he was and even has a line of he wants to cry

Vigil Relax, it's just a joke. But if you want an actual answer, his whole backstory as Shirou Emiya and how he became an Alter in the first place. Edgy really has no real meaning anymore. What? Do you really like this character that much or you don't like jokrs however shitty it may be?
jason wu I AM relaxed, okay? I merely asked you a question and your answer to it was satisfactory. And no, this has nothing to do with me liking this character or not.
jason wu Exactly. That was my intention, to be honest, but that doesn't matter anymore anyways. Words lose their meaning if they become overused, as you already said.
Post UBW Shirou Emiya. This Shirou is a heroic spirit of his and Rin's merit, he had achieved his ideal to the fullest and has become a genuine heroic spirit.
I just realized something after like, 5 years, EMIYA Alter never truly faces us, like, ever, in all 3 ascensions, he has his back turned to us and only looks at us from behind by turning his neck, in his final ascension, he has his back fully turned away from us, only a slight gaze back at us, in combat, he is one of only 2 servants who fights with their back turned to their master, the only other person who does that is Dantes, as of right now, we've never had EMIYA alter face us directly.
I like what the did with the yellow line if you didn't know the yellow line in japan represent fixing and it been used to fix poettery usually with gold or silver to make them more beautiful so the more you ascending the man the more you fixing him Here en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kintsugi
I pray that I'll get him someday. I waited 3 years and no Edmond Dantes. But EMIYA came home instead...and I am still waiting for EMIYA (Alter) and Edmond Dantes lol. EVENT SUMMONS COME TO MOMMA
He had worst backstory than whole EMIYA's family tree I don't get why his luck doesn't become rank E- yet lol.. Even thinking could make him break he doesn't even remember many of his pastlife but writing it in a book so he could not forget
There's apparently some trouble with localization with Emiya Alter because in the CCC event Tamamo Cat refers to him as "Detroit Emiya". The creators have also said he is basically what would happen if "Emiya went to prison". Unsuprisingly, Japanese people are insensitive to racial issues with foreign countries.
His and the other Emiya's skin is dark from magic use. In this universe, magic comes from special veins in the body, and extreme usage does what tanning does to it's color, over time. That's why Emiya's skin is now naturally brown, and his alter is extra brown
@@acostatv3916 Emiya alter is from a different timeline he isn't the shiro from stay night nor in unlimited blades, due to holy grail war in that timeline he became a contract killer much like kiritsugu
Anyone tried watching this while listening to Puella in Somnio, Decretum, and/or Confessio from Puella Magi Madoka Magica? I believe the effect is very profound.
