I mean, I get that this is a joke, but the only reason why Fate was even an eroge was because that genre sold very well in the early 2000s. Which is probably why theres so many. Fate was originally just supposed to be a normal VN, but they knew it wouldn't do too well.
The only (technically) true Heroic Spirit of the entire cast. Everyone's just borrowing powers and abilities from other heroes, Shirou is using the powers of his future self.
If Shirou is using his future powers, that means that if he lose Miyuu, then he can become a better Hero, the Ultimate Hero at his Sister's sacrifice. The curse is repeating again.
@@pforgottonsoul Yet he's recalled many times and even granted in FGO. Doesn't really care if he's not a true heroic spirit. He still do his job at best.

@@Salieri01 I don't know if there is a light novel or manga to elaborate on that, but the sequence in the film made it seem as if it all happened during a single night.
Compared to the 80s and 90s magical girls the magical girls are gradually involving more and more physical combat and/or weapons that may or may not be of mass destruction.
"better motives"? You mean because he was ready to damn the entire world for a little girl instead of an abused teenager? Let's not even get into the fact Miyu basically used her Grail powers to change Shirou's mentality. Up until she makes the wish for them to be "siblings", her world's Shirou was no different from Kiritsugu. A Magus who believed on sacrificing the few for the many.
@@r.k845 Miyu-verse Kiritsugu actually taught Shirou to be an actual magus instead of just a magic user and the rest of the masters were just dolls that are barely able to use their cards with proficiency, the only eyebrow raiser was when the empty card suddenly gets installed with Heroic spirit Emiya's essence. Also even Miyu-verse magus Shirou can't spam projection since the card(much like his heaven's feel counterpart's Archer arm ) is corrupting his body and they make him stay at home for this very reason.
Something funny I noticed When shirou fights for a girl, who's supposed to give access to a wish granting Mguffin (Sakura in heavens feel and miyu in oath under snow) he becomes physically more like archer
I've always interpreted it as Shirou giving up his dream for a person. Just as EMIYA is forced to realize his dream is impossible and gives up on it, Shirou does the same. In HF, Shirou actually does give up his ideals for Sakura, sacrificing literally everything for her. Here, although I don't actually know what happens in the movie, I'm assuming the same.
"Sorry, but you're going to have to keep me company... until the moment my blades run out. " That tsunami of swords rising to the moon and then flying at Angelica was probably the coolest use of Unlimited Blade Works ever.
@@Justic_ when you think about it, shouldn't he be able to create unlimited amount of Tsumugari as well? sure each time he create it, it cost him all the weapon in UBW but he could also instantly refill it. So rhetorically, he could have an unlimited amount of Tsumugari if he could just survive the backlash of creating the sword and using it.
@@charadreamer6704 i assume filling UBW and then sublimating all the weapons into one isn't really energy-efficient though... that's probably the biggest problem after the self-destruction is dealt with, it drains a lot of stamina and mana... although it is a rather spammable NP in FGO where he gets a massive energy-supply from Chaldea under usual circumstances.
@@Justic_ it should cost zero energy to refill it tho, since Reality marble is literally just a mental/soul place that is placed on reality. We all know that Shirou and Emiya could theoretically have like 10000 Calibur and other NP weapons appear inside their Reality marble with just a single thought and they would still be just fine without breaking a single sweat since the space allows them to draw whatever weapons they want without needing to create it. UBW is pretty much a semi-perfect 1st True magic since it could create weapons out of nowhere as long as you know it. If you can remove the limit that he needs to see the weapon first as well as his sword only elements he would be the closest person to be the first true magic user

Honestly Shirou tearing through the other masters was satisfying to watch, we see a shirou who was taught proper mage craft, could hold his own without the archer card, and if you give shirou a reason to fight there’s no stopping that warpath.
@@subcommanderxelios800because it IS Prisma Illya's prequel. Even though it is a prequel, it's not recommended to watch before starting the whole Kaleid series unlike F/Zero where you can choose between watching F/SN 2006 first or watching F/Zero as your starting point to the series

This was probably my favorite transition into Unlimited Blade Works. No flashy flames or blinding lights. Just a fade to black and Shirou standing atop a hill of swords.
SubjectXIII They're both adequate for what they represent. The flames suit FSN/UBW Shirou because it represents him being forged by the great Fire, the pivotal moment of his life that defined his whole person in his continuous pursuit of his ideal. On the other hand, Miyuverse Shirou's mental landscape is filled with snow because his crucial moment, the oath that he made during that night was under the snow, hence the title of the movie.
Currently in the manga, he stopped fighting in order to prevent Emiya invading his body. But before that, he must finish his last duty to dispose his once was loveable kouhai who now is driven by Lancelot's madness.
As another badass Wizard who went to war once said ""For the sake of one soul. For one loved one. For one life. The way I see it, there's nothing else worth fighting a war for."
He's the main character from Jim Butcher's long-running series The Dresden Files. A modern Wizard who works as a detective in Chicago and is a complete badass. I highly recommend that you (or any fan of the supernatural) read the series.

"Yeah... It's as you say... There are times...when just one thing can outweigh everything else". IMO, this is perhaps one of the best and most relatable versions of Shirou that we've seen so far. Hard to believe it came from a magical girl spin-off manga. Never judge a book by its cover, indeed.
Shirou: With countless treasures at your disposal, that heroic spirit is no doubt a king. That's the reason why you can thoughtlessly look down on me, someone who try and perfect but a single swing, someone who has... a duty to fufill!
Shirou is the most badass protag ever... Not because of ability (Though he is powerful) but because he's gone into hell and came back time and time again

My Body is made of swords My blood is iron, and my heart is glass I have overcome countless battles Never once having retreated Never once achieving victory The orphan is alone once again Striking Diamond dust atop a hill of swords Still, this life is not yet over This false body was still made of swords. Not really a fan of how the translations kill the UBW chants of both Shirous trying to make them look like Archer There is pretty clear reasons why they use different chants, they symbolize different things for them. Archers elegy speaks of how he lived his entire life as if he where a machine for the sake of his ideals, yet still even his own ideals failed him. UBW Shirou's chant symbolizes how, despite knowing that even his own ideals failed him in the end, he is determined to see his path to its end ("Thus, my life needs no meaning") While Miyuverse Shirou's chant symbolizes him throwing away everything, even his ideals, and stand alone against everything, willing to become even All The World's evil for the sake of his little sister, "This false body was still made of swords" this symbolizes how he took the power of his posible future self, who lived as a machine, to use it for the sake of Miyu as if he too where a machine himself.
Kibito Akuya Tbh i think the literal translations is more poetic then the official ones. The official one is the one that starts with "I am the Bone of my sword" while the literal translation starts with "My body is made of swords"
The movie had the most consistent character growth and development so far. Shirou growing, being torn between Kiritsugu's ideals and Miyu was a great aspect and was very relatable, especially if you know the original timelines. This is also my favourite version of the UBW-soundtrack. The sad undertone was really climatic and this time around it had a better meaning to it thatn before . At least that's what it feels like. Also screw you, everyone who is posting the same quotes. We all know the formula.
I didn't really know. I am playing Heaven's Feel right now. For the other routes I just watched the animes. I assumed the soundtrack first appeared in the UBW ova, but now I have the original version to check out as well.
Remember that this version of Shirou would have won the fight within SECONDS of Anglia getting brought into UBW if it weren't for her hax-ass magecraft
@@shaifs5072 Shirou's Magecraft was ALL he had though, even when he had the EMIYA card, it was just amplified. Angila had her bullshit AND Gate of Babylon
this movies version of Shiro was, in my opinion, the best Shiro so far. it had everything I wanted to see from him in UBW, and in stay night, but also FAR more! this movie was just fantastic!!!
Well,it's basically the fanfiction version of Shirou. A super-powered Shirou that's not shackled by his PTSD and his subpar magical training. Kiritsugu trained him properly and showed him all the skills necessary to be a Mage Killer, which is the magical specialty that SHirou fits in the best (due to his magic being completely based on his Reality Marble). I like the idea Nasu wanted for Shirou in itself, which is what gave birth to EMIYA to begin with (an inexpeienced mage that tried to save others and constantly failed, leading to asking the World for the power to save others), which is also why I love Heaven's Feel's Shirou a lot. But hey, fans will always love the idea of a shounen-hero Shirou that reached his full potential without any issues.
well, I have yet to watch heavens feel, so I still don't know about that one, I would watch it as soon as it would be possible to watch it online. but yeah, I also loved the concept of emiya and shiro, and how his trauma and his role model drove him to who he is, and the birth of emiya was caused from his will to save others, which eventually lead him to wanting to cease to exist. but this shiro, in my opiniong, have many of the traits made the original shiro so likeable, and yet had so much more, in the way I see it.
and then there's Muramasa Emiya from the FGO-verse, who turned "Unlimited Blade Works" into a sword, that was able to cut reality marbles (basically it achieved powers similar to Shiki's eyes of death) ofcourse the resulting power also killed him after swinging it 1 time. Not the invincible swordsman Jūbei, neither the highly praised master of espionage Hanzō, nor the renown Onmyouji Abe no Seimei. More than anything, just a swordsmith. But unpreparedness spelt your defeat. Once seeking for the ultimate blade. A blade of steel cutting no flesh, nor bones and neither life. What I seek for is the clearance of resentment. The cutting of bonds, fate and destiny. That is, to free onesself from Karma. Upon ones arrival are countless tools. Carved over a thousand blades, forming a pile of swords. This is the place where all paths cross This is the place where all desires flow This is the place where all deaths await My whole life was for this single swing. The heart of the blade is right here! Take this, This is my Tsumugari Muramasa!!! Show less REPLY
idea of shounen hero my ass, this shirou have the least happy ending (as for now, the manga still not ended yet), he lost everything of his life and every single person related to him as shown in the movie is fake except Miyu, whom become his real little sister by using her power. he still have his ptsd of losing sakura and Miyu to Ainsworth. His heart is dead, worse than kiritsugu in the course of saving Miyu. Only after he reconcile with Illya, Miyu and the gang, he start to regain the bright side little by little as shown through his eyes. yep, doesn't sound like shonen to me.
"a shirou from a magical girl anime? He'll be the weakest so the girls get time to shine" "Actually he's the strongest shirou. Solo's HGW and manages to push against Ea for a fraction of a second." "Wtf"
