I was honestly surprised by how little info there was on Shakespeare that wasn't just speculation. Regardless, everything that I could verify for Fate is here. That said, have you heard any other interesting stories about him?

some suppose that in the seven years of his "disappearence" he went to Italy with a company of actors, that could explain why he was such an italiaboo. I'd agree, if the names he uses weren't so... Weirdly un-italian, I'm no expert, but if my mother called me "Borraccio" or "Malvolio" I would have strangled myself with the umbilical cord as soon as I was born. But perhaps it was his intention all along, that clever bastard.

The speculation actually makes him a great fit for the Universe of the Fate series so most everything about him is covered leaving the only fictional parts about him in this series as the powers he has as a servant. I'm actually surprised you found out his wife had a daughter and twins. Not a commonly known fact about Shakespeare, many assume he had only a single son as his only child. (Probably cuz no one knows if he was there when his son past) Regardless, I only found out about the twins going through the family tree, I'm actually descendant of his eldest daughter.

It’s still frustrates me how he is only a 2* in FGO. He at least deserves to be a 4* for being “THE WORLDS GREATEST PLAYWRIGHT”.

well to be fair he is a caster servant so thats already a down vote for him also he is one of the weakest servants in a fight as he specializes in "buffing" people with his enchantments and in a normal grail war unless he works with another servant only other person to buff is his master and for obvious reasons having the master go toe to toe with servants is bad idea so it makes sense i would have liked him to at most be a three star servant

Eh, I've always enjoyed his plays. The bane of my existence was always stuff like The grapes of Wrath, which if found myself incapable caring about anything that happens in the book.

This guy's work makes G.R.R.Martin look like some holy saint. The entirely of Macbeth alones makes all the stories in ASOIAF, especially the Red wedding look like a Bridal Shower. Though the cruelest of authors is still the one who wrote the Book of Revelations.

@Jacopo Armini Still that's very hard, man that God doesn't like being not worshipped....The Native Americans weren't destroyed by one strike, they were crippled by conquest, plagues and again, conquest and genocide like the one removal act from our hopefully never coming "heroic" spirit candidate Andrew Jackson. I LOVE Fate Shakespeare. I agree a lot with the comment that I love how they found a way for him to be relevant and kinda powerful (especially in Apocrypha) without being a servant that ever enters combat. Yeah there has always been a lot of different speculation on him and his personal life and such but he was awesome. I love that he wrote for everyone. Like that was so important for the time period especially. The only thing he needs is more dirty jokes in Fate and I’ll be good.

Shakespeare is one of the more underrated servants in the series, personally I think his best works are much ado about nothing and the tempest

It kills me that we never get to see Shakespear (or any of the Red Servants besides Mordred) interact with their masters. Jean sounds really interesting, and it would've been cool to see how she butt heads with this lovable dingus
