Fate: The Winx Saga | VFX Breakdown of Bloom's Transformation 

The vfx and cgi in this was already good, but there's not a lot of it, so maybe thats why.

I saw the vfx coordinator of Agents of SHIELD say that money is great for CGI, but time is better. He said most of the times when special effects aren't as good, it's because they weren't given enough time

Netflix already gave them a lot of money for season 2

i really agree. the flames were too much and I had to keep rewinding and really focus just to see the actual wings

I mean it’s the point I guess. Her transformation isn’t complete yet since her wings go away little by little when she uses her powers

I hope so... and I miss the costume change too. And if that doesn't fit, PLEASE dress her better than a jacket... the overall clothing is just... ugh... unacceptable if you see what the winx club had...

if you look closely the wings start off really big and slowly get smaller. I think they are implying that she was quickly losing energy after rediscovering this ancient magic for the first time. I think in the next season when she masters the magic the wings will be remain more visible like they are at the beginning of the transformation. But overall I really like the design of the wings its very original but i wonder how it will work for the other winx, assuming they will unluck this ability too. The design pretty much naturally works well with the shape of fire, but for someting like earth it would be a bit difficult because visually its very different from fire, its not a light/energy source, would the wings be covered in leaves or so?

Not a Lot of hate.... A Lot of people are liking the serie also, i feel that Even the winx animation fans are changing their mind about it🤷

I as well was somewhat iffy about the show, but then I realized that this is supposed to be a adaptation of the Winx Club not a stright up reboot.

I am one of the oldest fan since 2004 (as long as I remember) it is very good. It’s not winx club it’s a different series I loved it I wasn’t sure at first,actuality I was disappointed because of flora and tecna missing and because I thought that terra was going to substitute them, by recreating the same story and the same plot...I was wrong and I am really happy with it. It’s better than the last four seasons of winx (which I really didn’t like them...) This is another universe with a new character (terra) who is amazing! New mean characters, with amazing story and and new development of each character that I really loved. I can’t say that I prefer the old series but I may bring them to the same level because they are different and I like the more mature and dark side they gave... I love that they developed more complicated storyline of the character like farah and the other teachers/adult characters I am really looking forward for the second season

@@eleonora_cermi yeh I was a big fan or the first few seasons then I grew up and didn’t watch it anymore so I am happy that they made it darker so it’s still interesting

Thing is you can't just expect naming a show Winx based on the og source and not having hate because it's so far from og one. If they had like a whole new set of characters with the new narrative they created and say it's "inspired" instead of "based", then old fans would be more forgiving I think.

Honestly I'm here for the costume change, the entire show is fantasy and hence everything makes sense and everything doesn't. I'd really like to see the Enchantix change in the later seasons if there are any

Same I think we had more time to come to terms with the fact that it will be different so we could go into it watching it without expectations for it to be the same

@@mad.for.madison exactly I mean I really don’t get why people are mad yes, the whitewashing is problematic but Terra is an entirely new character and Elisha Applebaulm, the girl who portrays Musa, is Singaporean and I believe that she is mixed just like Musa in the original cartoon. If the live action was exactly like the original material people would have still been mad no matter what so I just think that we should all be looking at it from a different perspective as a different and new show although it’s a reimagining! I truly did like it I mean it wasn’t the absolute best but it is a pretty good show and yeah

@@Kiki-wt7sy I agree I loved it too! The only thing I have a problem with is the Musa thing Like You said but I still liked Elisha and she did a great job! Also I surprisingly loved Terra and I like Sky much more now than in the cartoon! I think both are great shows and the people who didn‘t like fate can still watch the og anytime so I don‘t get the big deal! Obviously turning a show in which half the time people are flying around and doing magic would be hard and expensive so I think they did a great job!

@@Kiki-wt7syno musa wasn't mix in the og both her parents were Asian as for the actress who plays musa is quarter singnaporean. But anyways although they whitewash her she did a great job playing musa I like her.

I think they did a pretty good job with this new series given that they may have had to film during COVID

Farah said that only air fairies can fly, at least that's how I understood her line (it was probably in ep1 when she talks with Bloom in her office).

Bloom just transformed for the first time, and after that magic was lost for ages, it’s most likely she still hasn’t learned to control that power and use it properly to its full extent- Which can explain why the wings changed to a smaller state when she landed on the ground. Maybe in season two we’ll see them actually fly with bigger wings

Girl, she found out she was a fairy and two days later transformed. She clearly didn't know how to use them but having the wings shows she unleashed a great power. Is not hard to understand.

Yes, the most useless transformation I've ever seen. She doesn't even fly with the wings and her clothes don't melt..

I think it would have been stupid if they kept that. The show is meant to be kinda realistic and if the costume just changes to this super fairy ass outfit it would have been like hella weird 🤡

Well for me, the show really lacked magic and the feeling we were in an other fantastic realm, and not in a little boarding school in the middle of the woods. The realistic part of the show felt really boring. Why do they all have smartphones? They are supposed to be from different planets (or dimensions) yet they all act like normal people from earth. In the second episode of Winx Club (yes I re-watched it even though I'm an adult, I have no shame) Bloom says "let's go eat pizza" and the other girls are like "what's a pizza?". That little thing really shows us we are in a fantastic magical world and that our main characters are from other planets. And in the Netflix show... Well it really feels like they are a bunch of humain teenagers going to boarding school and sometimes they use magic. So I would have really liked it if we could have seen a really cool fairy transformation at the end with some nice music. It could have been a new outfit entirely, not inspired by the animated series, it could have been something with armor that would show that this is her combat form, it could have been anything and I would have enjoyed it. As it is it just feels like there was no fairy transformation in the show and as someone who really liked the fairies transformations as a child, I was really disappointed...

Too childish I guess. But if there was a costume not like the original Bloom.. Maybe something more ancient or whatever

Yeah, that outfit she had in the very final scene was really nice and would’ve worked well for this transformation. It didn’t need to be sparkly but just something more impressive, what’s she’s wearing is boring. hope they learn from their mistakes for season 2!

Or just change the colour of their clothes like Bloom would wear red, Aisha blue, Musa pink/purple, Stella yellow/orange and Terra green when they grow out their wings. No matter what clothing they have, it would become their respective colours.

They just explained that they didn't want Bloom to look like her outfit's on fire, they wanted the fire to be a few centimeters away from her to signify that she is controlling the fire and not her being on fire. Also, it's kinda silly to put her on skirts when she's floating, it would keep blowing and that's awkward.

I'm with you. This is the most useless transformation I've ever seen in my entire life. Her wings are useless and the transformation is just pretty lights runing around her clothes, her clothes should have melted.. And I also think they didn't understand the meaning of the word "transformation". Because "transformation" means "change" if there is no change, there is no transformation.

I feel like they should do a slight change in costume. Like maybe adding details onto her current outfit or something, but not anything major like a full on outfit change. Since you got to remember that this is live action, not animation.

This is live action, costume change would look like weird cosplay
