Easy way to remember which ones are PR owned B747-2F6 from the other versions are their GE CF6 engines as opposed to the leased PW JT9D like a B747-2B5 and B747-251. Back then PR goes for GE aero engines as opposed to now mixed GE PW and RR engines on the jet fleet. Nearby airlines RR CX GE Aero engines BR,CI,JL,NH PW KE SQ (1990s onwards RR powered fleet and GE engines) and OZ

Surprising enough how half their 742s were leased while only abt 4 were actually purchased. Great vid btw, nice to see u back :))

Thanks! It's interesting to note that PAL's factory-fresh 742s were the only ones in their fleet with upper deck "skybeds" (quite a unique feat that lasted until the mid-90's from what I've read).

3:14 Oh no. EI-BWF. The unlucky Jumbo that was involved in a terrorist bombing. A terrorist left a small bomb there, it went off midflight, one passenger who sat on it...died. The plane survived the incident thanks to its pilots.

PAL got to keep 3 of their 742s after the 1997 financial crisis and re-registered them with Philippine RP-C88x0 serials. They lasted until 2002 before they were sent to Marana.
