Fantastic tribute! Ray Alder is NOT Ronnie and I am so okay with this! Ray is Ray paying tribute to a great vocalist. If someone wants to hear it like the original... listen to the original. I love them both.
Love this, Fates sounds fantastic!!!! All the people that are saying all the negative things about this. These bands that do this are doing this to pay tribute!!! Not to outdo the original!! Keep your comments to yourself. Ronnie would have never said anything negative about these covers. Keep that in mind. Grow up!!!
@Thelight2112 That is Ray Alder of Fates Warning. Check em out. They do not have a weak album. Every album sounds distinctly different than the ones before. Even their older stuff. One of my all time favorite bands.
On December 8th 2023 LILIAC is releasing their cover of HEAVEN AND HELL, It's probably going to be really good! The lead singer is MELODY CRISTEA, She's a huge DIO fan, and has a voice that has that DIO sound! They will have a video to go with it, I'm sure it will be on RU-vid. Just thought I'd share it for those who are SABBATH AND DIO FANS!

@bluehavencd dio, certainly, is rated as one of the best singers in metal. many tribute albums, many many words of thanks, from all over the world of metal and rock, are proof of how he had been and still is highly respected.
best dio/sabbath cover/tribbute i have ever heard, excelent work! Vocals and guitar sounds great to me, drums are a little off, still awsome. HORNS HIGH!
windswept23 Dio is one of the world's best vocalists his early years he was in a band called The Elves went on to sing for a band called rainbow and Black Sabbath as well as numerous solo albums under his own name titled Dio
One of the greatest songs ever written. Iommi and Dio were superb together. Those two Sabbath albums were the pinnacle of their careers, IMO. This cover is okay, but nothing touches the original.

Not bad. Pretty faithful to the original though this one doesn't breathe like the Mob Rules version. There's not the same sense of immensity which is the essential element of this song.
Voice of metal, hell yes. RJD doesn't have the highest pitch in his voice, but within the range he possesses, I think nobody match his power and tone quality.
@MrNashguitar1 i agree man i love death metal but there are very few if any that would do this stuff justice. i would rather see vader cover slayer and suffocation cover sepultura than see at the gates cover holy diver xD theres a time and place for extreme metal.
If i could choose other musicians to cover this song i would put Lande on vocals and Wylde on guitars to reach a minimum rate of heaviness that this song demands

FW are my favs, and they do justice here..but this version here lacks the doom, chaotic element, the heaviness of the original...the sound is "too" polished...bass,guitars and drums they should have been heavier for this one here..Ray is ok..!!!!
