For more Fates, I would suggest from their underrated album Disconnected, the song "Still Remains". It features Kevin Moore (Dream Theater's original keyboardist). I'm sure you've also been recommended A Pleasant Shade Of Gray plenty of times, but if you don't want to go through an entire album already, you should also check out "The Ghosts Of Home", and "The Longest Shadow Of The Day" (has an interesting jazzy intro that progresses into metal)

Rays' vocals on this album are epic.

The small outtake at the end was the beginning of the song Monument where the singer forgot the lyrics.

This is a fantastic track from the band, a Top 10 Fates Warning song from many fans like myself, and while the entire Parallels album is fantastic, this is my go-to #1 track. The Vocal performance is incredible. Some of Ray Alder's best falsetto wailing for sure. The dynamics are a big part of what makes this song work. And even live, the band get the crowd chanting every time. It's a showstopper. NOTE: the version you were streaming I believe is from the 1995 Compilation "Chasing Time" which they attached that little outtake from their song "Monument" which came from the next album, 1994's Inside Out. "The Eleventh Hour" does not include that little 10 second outtake in the studio from Monument (Monument hadn't even been recorded or likely written at the point Parallels was released in 1991).

That was an outtake... For a while, some CDs would have "bonus" tracks and such... Like Marvel with scenes during the credits at the end.

From early days with Ray on vocals, Anarchy Divine off of No Exit and a newer one is The Light and Shade of Things. Very different styles from vocals. Due to time and smoking. But Ray has been and always be a favorite of mine. A most underrated band.🤘

The one you were talking and thinking about is : Mr. Geoff Tate (Queensryche) This is what Ray Alder reminded you.
