*It sucks that the first and only man that broke my heart was my father* EDIT: This is the first time that I got more than 1k likes in my comment but I can’t help but feel sad knowing that the number of likes that my comment got, represents the number of people that has gone through the same pain as I have. When I wrote that comment, everything was so bad. The reason why my father broke my heart was because of his drug addiction. Last year, he became worse. But you know what, we decided to put him on a rehab center and I’m proud to say that he’s doing good and I can see the progress (he’s been staying there for less than 2 months) I’m praying everyday for his recovery. Now, I can say to everyone that can relate to me, to just hold on. Hold on to the people you love, and to the love you had for your fathers (or mothers). One day, you’ll eventually find the reason why everything happened. Forgiveness is also important so that you don’t have to carry your pain and anger. Some might find it hard to forgive but I know that one day, you will and it feels good to always forgive because you’re not just doing that for the person who hurt you but for yourself. So you can free yourself and move forward with life. I’m sorry if this is too long but I’m sending virtual hugs 🤗 to everyone.😇❤️

This song makes my soul cry. I currently live with my both parents. I can say that my dad made a lot of mistakes, and it was a very hard process to forgive him. But I learned that forgiveness comes when you understand that there is nothing to forgive, but something to understand. There are things that mark us and makes us to act in some way in life. Let's understand that the one who hurts another was also hurt before. Who didn't receive love, can't give it either. It is liberating. Thanks Dad, i love you, today and always.

her dad was alcoholic, mine was a drug abuser. I understand exactly how she feels. You can have people all around you that love you, but there is still this missing piece. I currently live with my father right now with my sister and him. My mother is in the picture but I don’t live with her but I still see her almost every day. I’m listening to this song right now because I’m in tears crying for him because he has been diagnosed with the virus. Growing up I would blame him for my depression, I would always think that it was his fault for causing my depression. He would Yell at me for my things I really didn’t do or small stupid things that I did do. But now that I know that he’s in the hospital on oxygen tank and is in critical condition I can’t stop crying. So father I’m really praying for you to make it back, to be healthy like you were before. 🙏🏾🙏🏾

my father was never there for us... i hated him with a burning passion. he died when i was 14 from lung cancer... but growing into a young adult taught me how to forgive.. but ill never have love for him. i blamed him when i was raped i thought if he was there that none of this would ever happen to me.. i tried to take my own life a couple of times when i was 16.. i was honestly done living a horrible life.. but i thought about my mother.. the one who would have to bury me.. her baby, her youngest child.. i thought about her health.. her heart isnt doing well.. she would die if i ever did that.. i didnt want that so i didnt but i was still in a deep depression.. until i turned 18, i found the love of my life.. my family loves him and we're moving into our first house together in nov, but yeah i wished i had a father who loved me...

I will sing it at karaoke. I felt all the pain coming through as I let go of it. It came through in my voice. He died and never said he was sorry to me. I loved him and I also feared him. I do want him to have peace in heaven. I know he was a very troubled man. No one would ever do such a thing if they were not truly broken within. He came from a home with an abusive father, that was a secret, we were to never ask about him. I lost my entire family due to his cluster B personality disorder. I have had to grieve the loss of all of them. We were all so broken apart. If only they knew what they don't know, the truth was just to hard for them to face. It is out of my hands and I am moving on and living my life. I love them all very deeply. It's been a hard road I have travelled and I know I am not alone in this. I chose to forgive him. Brittnee

My two oldest girls have a step dad since my oldest was 2 she almost 17 but now looking back I thank her bio dad for leaving them cause they are great kids and still have a father. The youngest is 14 she desperately has wanted a relationship with him but he acts like a big kid I offered my full support to him to make things work for my daughter. I never got to know my father. My three siblings got to have relationships with him while I was the only one that knew nothing of him. He passed almost 12 years ago,I’m almost 13. I spent my early years thinking it was normal for kids to not have dads. I can’t be sad cause I never new the kind of person he was, but in a way I can because I envy the kids whose dads they get to see, whether it’s on weekends or what when if I want to see mine I have to go to a cemetery in a town I don’t know. I basically have no relationship with my dads family it gets hard to think that they got to live with him his whole life and I got a year and a half that I don’t even remember! Some people tell me I shouldn’t be depressed or unhappy in a life I haven’t really gotten to live. But the thing is that depression doesn’t care how old you are or what happened to you, I feel lonely in this world, I feel no one will love me, for so many years people told me I was ugly, that I should just do everyone a favor and die, but recently people guys I liked in the past...guys I’ve never liked have told me I’m beautiful, that I have a great personality and a bunch of lies like that, and I’m so used to being called ugly by everyone that I find myself repulsive, disgusting, I have tried so many times to be happy but the things that have happened in my life have lead me to believe I’m not supposed to be here,at least not now, I’m not saying I’m going to kill my self right after this but I am saying I have tried more than a few times in a span of two months, I just remind my self that no sadness lasts forever,it my seem like it but there is a light somewhere down the tunnel trust me, I may still be trying to find it but I know it’s there it’s one of the very few things keeping me alive right now
