Thanksgiving Day Turkey Bowl Football game between local rivals in Northeast Philadelphia: the Father Judge Crusaders of the Catholic League versus the Abraham Lincoln Railsplitters of the Public League played on November 22, 1984. Father Judge was defending Philadelphia Catholic League champions and entered this game with an overall record of 8-4 while Lincoln was 6-4 for the season. The Thanksgiving Day game between Judge and Lincoln started in 1975 and this was the 10th annual game. Judge's overall record against Lincoln was 6-2-1 on Thanksgiving coming into this game.
On March 12, 2024, it was announced that both schools had reached a joint agreement to end the annual Turkey Bowl game after nearly 50 years due in part to concerns about the safety and security of players, referees and attendees.
Judge leads the all-time series 44-3-1 and won 33 times in a row on Thanksgiving (no game in 2020) with the final victory of 24-14 in 2023. Lincoln last won on Thanksgiving in 1989.
