What’s even sadder is that the PDF File wasn’t just a Karate instructor. He was homeless before Gary met him and actually helped him out and got him that career and job and he spent several years as a close family friend and took advantage of his son throughout it. Gary may have knew something but could never think someone he helped would stoop so low until the kidnapping… now you see why he was “a lot” more ready to do what he did vs letting the police handle it. But what is happy is the responses he and his estranged wife gave after. At the court the thing that got his sentence reduced is when the judge asked him if he had any words, he just stood up slow and calmly and said “if you were in my position, you would do the same thing” and let’s just say it seems the Judge gave him answer with the heavily reduced sentences. And when interviews asked his wife about the situation after she and Gary spoke she just said “well I said the least you could of done was let me drive you” And what better just before Gary passed away and he was asked “would you do it again?” He just replied with the biggest grin “Hell yes!” Oh and what’s better his son became a CSA awareness adviser and advocate and when asked what he feels about his dad doing what he did, he just says he’s proud of him.

An interesting side story I have heard of on this is that he mowed the lawn at his local church once a week for years, and his pastor and his parole officer sat down and determined that he had done sufficient service.

As someone who did 5 years in prison, i can tell you that I have never once met a gang or cartel member who hadn't done a little unwilling tango on another person. Not a single one. Anyone and everyone who is or was in a gang or cartel has done it. And they'll also be the only ones making a big deal about SOs.
