Aweee that’s Cerah and her father Berani from the Denver Zoo! When Cerah’s was 2 years old her mother sadly passed away from heart complications. Something amazing came from that tragedy because Berani stepped right in to the role “Mr. Mom” and took over raising little Cerah. That’s quite extraordinary being that orangutan’s are generally know to be very solitary animals and wild male orangutans typically have nothing to do with their offspring. The dynamic has shown to be quite idifferent amongst Orangutan’s brought up together in captivity where they are known to form strong bonds with certain others. Still captive male Orangutan’s are not know to play an active role In the child care. There is something really special going on there and Berani is setting the bar high for other Orang Dad’s!

in natural environments the male orangutan leaves and doesn’t raise the child, so it’s always fascinating to see how they interact when in captivity together
The babies mom passed away 😢 . This is a exceptional story . So happy her daddy is there for her . Orangutans are my favorite ape .Thier eyes are so human like .
@@ikindoflikemangoes4951 well tbf it's normal for rangytang males to leave before the child is born and not help raise it. They are pretty antisocial animals.
@@brandonoliversosa896 that’s because the orangutan family is naturally composed of the mother and child. the father leaves because its purpose in the species is just to create more orangutans, not to raise or care for them.
