I don’t think the poem is by Fatih Sultan Muhammed Han. He wrote many beautiful poems but this is not his poem. There are many words that were not used in the part. Even if we assume that the poem was translated into today‘s Turkish, it does not reflect the expressions style of those days. It still contains many oddities, contradictions and inconsistencies that don‘t belong to that period. Expressions like earring or Egypt evoke Yavuz Sultan Selim Han, a sultan who was his grandson and a great poet too. Fatih Sultan Muhammed Han also used the pseudonym „Avni“ in his poems and this is not the case in the poem as a whole does not correspond of his way of speaking and writing. He never wrote in his poems „I‘m Fatih Sultan Muhammed Han“. Why would he do that this time where he‘s addressing the Sultan of sultans. He would not dare and would be ashamed.
