Most of kung-fu practitioner nowaday use the modern sanda or kick boxing for fighting. For me, a real traditional practitioner have to fight using the techniques of his own style, in traditional way. I just show here some free moves using sandbag.

at last one sifu doing traditional techs.!Doing kickboxing techniques its the same as sayng:"our style is useless so we should use something else".BTW,dont you bruise and scratch your foreknuckles in leopard punch?(Former kickboxer,kung fu and karate instructor)

are you sure this is Bak Mei? It looks a bit more like Choy Li Fut to me.

Would that be a problem if this system added something from the Choy Lee Fut system? Now I am not saying it did, just only if it did added it to it's arsenal.

ya know, I think sanda is getting all the applications of kung fu you learn from drills, forms and demonstrations and then you use them in an organized fashion for combat, but it looks super ugly. am I correct?

No, Sanda doesn’t use the applications of traditional Kung-fu (or at least it is very rare). Sanda is very simply Chinese kickboxing : the Chinese wanted a fighting sport, they took the kickboxing system and rules and modified them a little bit to put more importance on throws.

The Chinese created Sanda to counter the Thais after being beat in the 1920s and throughout the 50s-60s in the Full Contact tournaments. In reality it is a copy of Muay Thai added with Judo. Sifu Jonathan is right though, you have to be able to use the techniques learnt from your system and be able to fight.
