Serious and not so serious when talking to media, serious on the field tho and that’s where the found common ground. It worked out for both I think. They won’t go down to the crab shack and grab a beer anytime but they aren’t like mortal enemies, though I think both of them get a giggle out of it being presented like they are. It’s media attention for lane which helps him in other ways.
Lane is a good coach and only ex coach at Bama that nearly beats Bama or gives them a hard time. He had us beat when he was at Tennessee and gave us a hell of a game at Ole Miss. I would live to see him come back to Bama when Saban retires at 90. Lol.

For what? To win some trophies? Sure, if that’s what makes him happy then fine but there’s more to life than winning a championship. Most coaches are content with being competitive and actually having time with their families.
@@coltonellis9206 Most coaches WISH they had even a tiny bit of Coach Saban's success. Coach Saban spends time with his family, but he also maximizes his time recruiting and coaching. It's not about the trophies or rings, those are just representations of the effort him, his coaches and players put in. What really matters is the success, and what he's done to change the lives of his players for the better. Look at all the players he's coached who've been drafted into the NFL. Currently, Alabama has +64 players in the NFL, the #2 team has about 41. Nick Saban has changed people's lives. Most coaches are "also rans" when compared to Nick Saban. Was Michael Phelps "content" with a couple of Olympic Gold medals? No, and few people remember the name of someone who won one gold. But they remember the name of someone who's won several. And THAT is the difference. Coaching and building teams is Coach Saban's passion. We should all be so lucky to be as talented as him.

Just when everyone is starting to count out Alabama and Coach Saban they turn it around. You see, everyone has gotten so used to Bama being in the playoffs and winning NC's that if they don't do it every year or every other year they say it's done. I guess we'll see.
Lane text Saban but Saban don't answer. I like Kiffen but Saban don't for some reason. Saban needs to start relaxing and enjoy life instead of having that attitude all the time. He has done such a wonderful job at Bama but I would like to see him quit being all business all the time.

Kiffin is probably the biggest phony coach along with Brian Kelly. Fired from Raiders, USC, SEC and Florida teams and his wife and now he is trying to imitate Saban thinking he will be his successor….good grief. 🙁
