In this video we are working on a 1970's Sony 5520 turntable, Which is in need of some restoration repair work.
The turntable was purchased with issues on the automatic system and other minor problems.
We will attempt to diagnose the issues and restore this beautiful turntable back to its former glory.
In the process of the above, We will also upgrade the stylus / cartridge on the record player. The wood box will be re-finished, Cover / lid polished, drive belt replacement and unit service cleaned.
All of this whilst trying to maintain the original appearance of the unit and keep it going for many years to come.
As usual we aim to keep as much of the original components as possible, Only replacing the necessary parts.

Vintage & retro audio equipment is getting more and more collectible.
These particular turntable required a good overhaul, To return it back to its best working ability.
Obviously with any older Hi-Fi equipment, They need servicing to keep working as they were intended.
Restoring this turntable back to how it should be, Keeps it alive for people to appreciate this era of audio equipment.
