Despite chat losing the leaves off their heads more than a few times throughout the journey, you did quite well with this playthrough! Thanks so much for playing!
Glad you were here and shared your thoughts! I finished the game myself the other week and it's one of the most unique experiences I've had in videogames.
This is the first "true" LP Ive watched in a little over 5 years. Chat is a pretty huge part in streams, but theres a certain vibe of just the player giving their undivided attention to the game and not have to worry about interacting with chat. Feels nostalgic. Thank you for this. I wouldnt mind more of this sort of LP in the future.
I'm not really sure what to say... what a beautiful ending. What a beautiful game. I really see why so many hold this game in such high esteem. Ever since it was revealed that the sun was dying naturally, I figured the ending of the game would having something to with the "inevitable end". Although our beloved Nomai and Hearthians may be gone, a new universe is born and like continues. It's a very poignant, beautiful end. Big props to everyone who worked on this! Also big thanks to Fauna for this wonderful LP! This was a great experience, and I'm glad I got to see it all with Fauna and the Saps!
@@tadferd4340 The very end after the credits where the little campfire with the insectoid aliens appears if you've met Solanum. Fauna's head was in the way so she edited in a picture over her to show it.
@@tadferd4340 It honestly looks like part of the game, so I didn't notice it at first, but then I read "my big green head was blocking the view" and I was like... what green head? Oh... This is a Fauna edit?
Congratulations on completing one of the greatest gaming experiences ever crafted! You missed two incredibly important things at the end: In the Vessel is a message wall with lore answering ALL your questions, and you didn't talk to all your friends after they played their song! You should go get the ending again and see all of that. Don't worry, I'm not crying about you hating the White Hole Station or anything... The universe was at the end of its natural life. Don't be sad that it's gone, be happy that you were a part of it, and a part of the birth of the new universe.
@@Mirrormnwhen this playthrough started I distinctly remember there only being 21 videos at first...so I'm fairly certain the 22nd video got added afterwards. Edit: YEP, PLAYLIST SAYS UPDATED 4 DAYS AGO. I BELIEVE IN EPISODE 22 WHS
After all the laughs, frustration, and a lil bit of pain , I really loved this Let's Play. Thank you Fauna for not only influencing me to play this spectacular game for myself, but also sharing your extremely unique experience with us! The ending was especially a lot more heartwarming through your lens. Recording this as an episodic Let's Play and releasing it during your break was a genius idea. If you play the DLC I really hope you return to this format. I can't imagine watching it any other way.
Just want to post my sincere gratitude for this series kirin. It's made your break fly by - I've tuned in every day for my daily dose of Fauna, and loved every episode. The sap memes around the WHS have just been too good; your cute zooming in and out as you excitedly ramble on about your next theory on the rumor map; the many, MANY hilarious ways you lost your ship... You've done a fantastic job transitioning to a lets play format, and I hope you do the same for the DLC if you ever get around to it, I'd hate for any of your fun to be lost to a random spoiler. Thank you Fauna
Man, I hope she goes back for a bunch of the lore she skipped at the end. The Vessel has two big walls of lore on the upper floor, and everyone has something to say after they play the music around the campfire.
I'm so sad that this series is over... It was a series that always aired right as I came home from work and settled donw. It gave me an hour to turn off my brain and watch Fauna discover the next new thing the game threw at her. While I had watched the game be played in the past, and played to completion, it never felt complete. Often, the people I watched play it would play for hours and hours in one sitting. I would often miss big chunks of the game in that format. This was a perfect way to play outerwilds, and watching Fauna play it and enjoy it as much as she did made it feel that much more special.
Just want to thank Fauna for taking her time to record this whole playthrough. It really was amazing seeing you get through the game even through all the pon moments, the act of discovering new things within Outer Wilds is really rewarding and it was amazing seeing you slowly discover and then unravel the mystery of the eye on your own without chat backseating. Can't wait for the eventual DLC playthrough! Thanks again for this amazing playthrough!
Thank you so much for this Fauna, not just for leaving this for us while you were away, but exposing me to a game that while I've wanted to play for a long time I may never have gotten around to. Which I'm extremely thankful for because this game is probably one of the most magical games of all time. They truly created something special. I'm glad I got to experience it with you and the saplings
This has truly been an excellent series Fauna! Thank you for taking the time to do it and giving us Saps something to watch while you were on break! Hope you feel better soon and look forward to having present Fauna back soon! Thanks for an excellent Let's Play and see you later!
Thank you for this Let's Play series, Fauna. It really was a trip, and it's actually a bit melancholic to see it go. Despite chat going nuts over WHS and despite your hesistance to ever look up, I thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed this series. I could say I spent more than half the series just laughing at the shennigans you got yourself into, but watching you still figure everything outw as great. Again, thank you. And thank you for even taking your time to do this. These past 3 weeks have honestly blown by so fast thanks to anticipating the next episodes! Past Fauna was great, and honestly at times really never felt like you were gone. You did great! And I hope you get well soon
One final gathering around the campfire for Outer Wilds and Solanum to share a song in the final moments of their universe. While the universe of the Nomai and the Hearthians comes to an end, our universe is born thanks to them passing the torch to us. I'm glad you enjoyed playing this game Fauna, and I look forward to you playing the DLC (hopefully in the same Let's Play format). (puts a marshmallow on a stick and sits by the campfire)
And at last, our hatchling kirin makes it at the end of her journey in the final episode. Definitely not without its funny moments (Chert's instruments definitely was hard to me to get too ) it was overall a very fitting end to this crazy adventure. I'm happy that you decided to let's play this Fauna and that I decided to play this. As for what I thought about everything? Not gonna lied, I cried. When I beat this game I was going through a very rough patch and my own take of it is that well, even though you can't stop the end of the universe in the end, it doesn't mean that the journey itself had no meaning. We had a lot of fun adventures and met all sorts of cool people. It definitely hits home for someone like me who feels badly about not being able to save the world from every evil. Like there are some things we don't have control over, but it doesn't mean we're any less, y'know? I had to make a decision that basically was me admitting that I will never be able to save the world, but y'know? That's okay. Some people will just never be able to understand you, no matter how hard you try, but y'know? That's okay. I suppose in retrospect it's also kind of a moment of humility for me. In the end, you can only do so much for people, and some people are just dead set in their ways that there's no hope of ever changing them. You have to basically let them go and start on your own journey. They may not be able to truly comprehend it, but... that's okay. You just have to let some people go. It's time for something new. Sorry for getting way too sentimental about this, this game really came to me in a moment where I needed it the most. Anyway I'm glad you enjoyed the game! I hope we get to talk about it more once you return from your vacation and feel better again!
"Is the DLC good?" The DLC is arguably better than the base game. Let me repeat that. The DLC of a so carefully and competently crafted game with each moving and static part in a perfect non-linear harmony... is better than that (arguably). After so many DLC are just cheap cash grabs to take advantage of the popularity, Echoes of the Eye is an overwhelmingly phenomenal experience. On the topic of the playthrough, there's no wrong way to play the game. This game is an experience, and as long as you engage with it honestly, you're not doing it wrong. This was Fauna's journey, and it's awesome she got to experience this masterpiece of a game. That said, I think she would have been better served to take more time between episodes and really digest the information she got, or really ponder what was in front of her, and take advantage of the pause button. There were so many missed opportunities because by the time Fauna thought on something again, it was much later after she had barely explored it and didn't remember critical information about it or what it looked like. Take full advantage of the Let's Play format and take the time you need to fully understand what the game gives you. I enjoyed this a lot, even though the lack of WHS deeply scars my soul haha
You know, I think this playthrough highlights why I enjoy watching you play games so much. You don't just play the games, you enjoy them. It sounds like a weird thing to say but it is refreshing to see someone enjoy a game not just for gameplay or writing but for the game as a whole from the visuals to the music. Outer Wilds is such a beautiful game and I am so happy you chose to do it in this format rather than streaming it. You did not have to do this for the saplings since you are on break, but I am sure we are all grateful you did. Watching you play was like experiencing it for the first time and it was honestly beautiful. Sorry for the long message and once again thank you for playing this for us, both past and future Fauna. I look forward to you playing through the DLC on or off stream
This game taught me a valuable lesson in evaluating myself and life in general. You aren’t a failure because you didn’t know how a puzzle works or weren’t fast enough to get across a planet, you were simply lacking information to help solve the problem or understand it. Something was missing that would crack the case wide open, and you can only do the best you know how with what information you know. Nothing is added to the game from start to finish, only the changes in your perspectives and understanding of things. And when you do understand things, when you understand the nature of the eye, your time travel, and the universe… you can finally embrace it for what it is, and let go.
Well since you asked for theories.... I think an observer that is entangled with a quantum object is close to immortal. Solanum on the Quantum Moon is still there 280,000 years later because she is, while entangled, unable to observe her own death. Her quantum waveform is spread amongst a bunch of corpses across 5 versions of the Quantum Moon, and a living Solanum that cannot logically collapse her own entanglement. Can't advance to any state that would ever let her observe her death, she is quantum locked as she is on the moon forever - existing but unable to change. What that means for the Hearthian, or any sapient species from before the main Outer Wilds universe that quantum entangled themselves with the Eye is confusing. But the ending is kind of supposed to be confusing mind trippy stuff so I'm okay with that.
Thank you so much for this letsplay, Fauna! I'm still behind several episodes but wanted to watch the finale live. I hope you had a good holiday with mama and papa kirin and I can't wait to see you again.
It's a real shame people told her not to do it during the same run, it's designed to be integrated into the base game and works well like that, the devs would have separated it if they thought you shouldn't play it until after. Hope she doesn't get spoiled before she gets to it.
@@ThatGuyYouSeeCommentingOnClips tl;dr: I disagree No. DLC is definitely a divergence from the main game. Even if it might be integrated into the overarching story, it is not integrated well into the main gameplay loop since it has its own environment to play around with, with no mention of other planets. It's like a mini sandbox inside a sandbox. What I'm saying is, once you enter the place blind, you just know that this place must be a DLC. That's how different it is from the main game (if you know, you know). I'm glad people warned her about it. In my opinion, DLC is best played when it becomes the main focus, without anything else in mind. I can't wait for her to play it.
I do not know of any conscious being that finishes Outer Wilds and is not excited to jump into the DLC ... although I understand if they hesitate a bit (because they are worried about it negatively affecting the emotional ending , even if that doesn't happen).
@@shintori1029 I don't understand how any of that means it's better to play it in an isolated way, you've described things about it, but not why it's then better to not play it at the same time, which doesn't follow in my view at all.
I'm glad I got to experience the story of Outer Wilds with you and the saplings, it's probably a game I would've never picked up myself. From your big brain theories that were spot on, to your pon gamer moments, I enjoyed every episode! That ending was especially impactful, I think I'll also put the OST on loop for a bit This was an amazing playthrough Fauna, thanks for taking the time to record and prepare all of it! And to all the WHS bros, I salute you 7
What an amazing Let's play series! A captivating experience the whole way through. With the hilarious continued mentioning of the forgotten WHS and the surprising amount of times she fell into the sun. Every episode was super entertaining and funny. I hadn't played this game for myself when the LP began, so for the first episodes I spent many hours finishing the game. And seeing Fauna explore the same things I had, and while they were in such recent memory was an absolute joy to experience. Thank you so much for this whole series Fauna, even on your break you manage to give us so much comfy and hilarous entertainment
Thank you Fauna for playing this game, it's one of my favorite games of all time ever!! It hurts me how easy it is to spoil as well, so the fact you did this blind was just the best thing i could ever ask for. I hope you enjoyed the experience as much as the saplings and I did. We all have outer wilds shaped holes in our outer wilds shaped hearts.
This playthrough was such a joy to watch. Thank you, Fauna, for doing this; it was a blast! May we never forget the friends made along the way or how stinky the WHS is, if it even existed at all.
I really hope she plays the DLC next, and hopefully as another off stream lets play, as much as i occasionally malded. The backseating would have been far worse. Thanks for an awesome lets play❤
Thank you Fauna for the lets play! Haven't watched a full lets play in years but you picked a great game to play that I couldn't help but watch the whole way through!
This is definitely one of THE games of all time. Thanks for playing this masterpiece Fauna and giving us a source of Faunium while you're on break Past Fauna did a wonderful job!
You have a big green head huh? A big green head filled with a rugged ridge-covered brain? I bet that super smart head has antlers too and is really good at solving puzzles! It was really fun to watch your LP! CONGRATULATIONS!
Hands down, my favorite aspect was just how dang excited she would get over every discovery. You don't see such a visceral reaction in let's plays very often.
This was an amazing Let's Play series. Outer Wilds was the perfect choice for all of the incremental progress and knowledge each episode unveiled. Wouldn't mind seeing another Let's Play series in the future!
Doing a let's play for this was such a good idea. Your reaction to Solanum and the post credit scene was great. The end makes you so emotional. Thank you for preparing it for your break, it was fun.
Congrats Past-Fauna! It's been a real treat watching each episode of your Let's Play! Glad to see you experience this gem of a game! Get well soon too, Present-Fauna
I really enjoyed these daily episodes, Outer Wilds is one of those games I think everyone should play. This really felt like when my favorite anime comes out every week, except this was every day!!!
I was looking forward to this Let's Play but I could never had imagined what It ended up being. Loved every second of it and I know I'll come back in the future to watch it again. Thanks Fauna.
Thank you so much for playing Outer Wilds Fauna There was some little oopsies and filler episodes (the whs and the poem ) but the whole let's play was top quality and very fun to watch! Watching Fauna being so into the game, thonking hard, fangirling and feeling has been a blast! And it was also an excellent source of memes This kirin is a gamer but also a let's player, higly entertaining I would rate this let's play a solid silly and comfy/10 I wouldn't mind watching another one in the future!
Even burnt marshmallows taste great when you're sitting with friends at the end of the universe. I loved this so much Fauna, thank you so much for playing it! Get well soon!
I’m so glad Past Fauna enjoyed the game!! I personally finished my first playthrough just in time to watch this final part, and it was great to be here along with all the other Saplings. ::)
I've never played or watched this game before, so seeing it all the way through was a special experience. Sharing the enjoyment and discover with her was very fun. This format was really smart too
Thank you for the playthrough Fauna! I've lost quite a few hairs and got quite a few cracks in my skull from bashing my head against the wall with the WHS, the Vessel lore, the Lakebed Cave etc., but it was a very fun-yet-maddening experience, thank you so much :) As far as the ending theories goes, my understanding is as follows. Yes, the Hearthian entering the eye created the new (next) universe, therefore the world is not just one universe, it's kind of this "accordion" of collapsing and expanding. A big bang, a new universe is created, exists, then heat death happens (mass supernova end of the world), a new observer is summoned into the eye and a new universe is created. Rather than theory, I have this understanding of the process that due to the fact that the observer who enters the Eye is what collapses it down to a single form, everything both in how the eye looks to the observer AND the new universe itself is BASED on that observer. So for example as a bit of a confirmation, the reason those bug species were warming up near a campfire in the forest is because the Hearthian's home planet was like that. You know how seeds in programming work? Basically you have a simple number, but your entire run if it's randomly generated may be based around that number. And when the number changes, the run changes as well. You have that with roguelites like Binding of Isaac for example. Each new run is different as long as the seed is different. So my theory is that the specific person that enters the Eye functions as a seed for the new universe. So it would be to some degree based on the person's memories and personality. That's how I see it. Thanks for watching this with me everyone, and thanks Fauna for playing it :) The reason why I love Outer Wilds so much is that this is my view of how our own universe functions. I believe it's an infinite succession of Big Bangs and new universes as well. And I do believe that something like the Eye exists in reality as well. That's why this game is so special to me.
What a great playthrough of my favorite streamer playing my favorite game. I'm really glad Fauna played this as a Let's Play, since it's such an impactful experience and, even putting aside spoilers, I think experiencing it as part of a crowd is just not the same. I love how engaged she was with the concepts of the game, it seemed really up her alley so I'm so glad she enjoyed it. Can't wait to see the DLC, and I hope she does that as a Let's Play as well.
After saying "ill edit that out" multiple times she finally did an edit Fr tho thank you for posting these LP! This was surely a very interesting game! I wish you a speedy recovery and cant wait for you to start streaming again
thanks for the amazing LP fauna! it was a joy to watch you figure stuff out, best playthrough i've watched don't believe the lies, there is no white hole station
"Don't be sad that it's over, be happy that it happened." After loving playing through the game myself, I was really hoping you'd check it out one day, so thank you! This really is one of those games you can only play once and after that, you have to relive the experience through watching others play it, so getting to see my oshi have the perfect no spoiler experience of it in this LP format was fantastic. You're always so thoughtful to leave us something to look forward to even if you're not going to be actively around and this was the perfect Xmas gift! The LP format was super fun, you still managed to be your normal fun and hilarious self even without a chat, you really are good at this thing, it honestly impressed me a lot! Mobius, please give us our Solanum slice of life dating sim! P.S. I ended up learning Travellers on the kalimba too, it feels special to have your own instrument to play along with the gang!
Well done! this is one of my favorite games of all time, it's touched me in so many different waves, it's truly an experience that you can only feel once. I wish I could erase this game from my memory just so I could play it again....but it's fun reliving it watching you play through it :) I'm probably one of many that hopes you try the DLC
I should've taken a selfie with Solanum! But my camera went missing so I couldn't Past Fauna you did a wonderful job, I hope to see you again for the DLC Let's Play
I feel like I have to leave this feedback Fauna but this is probably the first let's play I've watched for about a decade or so and it was really great. I'm actually so glad this ended up being a let's play instead of being streamed. I really hope for the future that more talent won't be afraid to approach specific and certain games differently because some games really feel like they're more suited to this kind of content creation over being streamed. Either way, this was amazing, super entertaining and lovely to see you progress through all the mysteries. Thanks for all the entertainment!
This was an amazing ride and I was happy to see how much you enjoyed this game Fauna! I can't wait to see you play the DLC as well! Thank you for this wonderful series Fauna!
I’ve seriously enjoyed this play through so much! Part of the mystery was in seeing how it would all come together for you, and seeing what parts had you stumped and what you got unexpectedly quickly was really fun! The moments with Solanum were sweet, there was plenty of excitement and a surprising amount of Kirin speed running! With all that said, I think you’ve put the saplings through their own orange hell with all the cliff hanging! I would love to see a let’s play of the dlc!
I could watch people playing through this game for ever and ever. So glad fauna played this. As a side note I think, like almost everyone, that the LP format is the best for this game. We can chat about the game after you are done. It also makes it so chat, me included, doesn't bother you live when you miss things like the WHS or the ability to look up, since we can't help it and it's funnier that way.
Thank you for playing this amazing game, Fauna This was actually my first time experiencing this game and it was quite the journey with you and the Saplings. There were a lot of Fun and Wow moments along the way (gotta say your misadventures with the autopilot were very entertaining ) and I loved hearing your theories trying to piece everything together. Thank you for bringing us along on your let's play and the devs for this experience I haven't yet looked at other theories or lore videos to fill in any gaps I'm probably missing but my first thoughts as to the ending were that the Eye, being something that is integral to the fabric of our universe as well as something which preceded it, effectively "collapsed" the universe upon being directly observed by the player. Once that observation was broken by the player jumping into the sphere above the campfire it restarted the universe with a new Big Bang, bringing new life and explorers who will eventually begin the cycle anew.
Episode 21: Finale Still forgets that the flashlight exists for a while. Sasuga past Kirin. edit: For the Chert part in Fauna's defense, I don't think she zoomed in with the signal scope ever in the entirety except for once to look at a supernova or on accident. Still sasuga past Kirin.
Amazing playthrough, Fauna! The blind kirin WHS saga was great to follow and I'm not sure I've ever seen someone so excited for lore Hope you had a great time off
Well that was quite the journey, I'm almost sad to see it end but also glad Fauna will be back soon so we can discuss all about how much she loves Solanum
Fauna's run has been so great, I'm so glad she played it. I hope some other members also pick up Outer Wilds, it's so good and Fauna's run has only made me want more.
@@Phoenix0F8 Zeta started it as well, Lamy played through a chunk, and on the boys side Vesper and Shinri have both played it through. My dream would be to have FuwaMoco play this as a duo; Miko, AkiRose, Korone and Subaru for the laughs; and Big Brain Botan, Biboo, and Ina because they smart.
What a ride! The whole journey was full of impact, confusion and most of all, wonder. Never in my life I played/watched a game that just let us "exist". We aren't the big hero, we aren't going to change anything, we are just experiencing. My theory is that its the big bang, and everything restarts again. Thank you for your Playthrough! I wouldn't have found this game if not for you, so thank you again!
Thank you for the Let's Play Fauna. Always fun to see how people explore the world of Outer Wilds. With the Let's Play format really got to see someone bounce off the world alone and how it differs from when chat might spoil or re-direct. I glad you enjoyed the world and hope we get to see you play the DLC. I always took the ending to be the universe re-starting and that the Hearthen's and Nomai's impact in how they got there to observe it being important to how it starts.
Man, the ending hits me hard every time. What a beautiful game from start to finish! I'm so glad that you enjoyed your time with it, Fauna, and thanks for letting us observe your journey! The playthrough was really fun--the moments of excitement, frustration, epiphany, and cluelessness--it was a rollercoaster, and I enjoyed it all! Looking forward to the DLC, and if you feel like tying up any loose ends from the base game! It's not over yet! As far as theories for the end go, I think that even though we start out believing that the Universe is in danger and in need of a hero to save it, that's not actually the truth. Our journey doesn't save or benefit anyone--we just become a witness and learn about generations of explorers, scientists, and engineers who risked and spent their lives in pursuit of wonder, and we become the final torch-bearer of their quest by bringing together their achievements to reach the final frontier: the end of our universe, and the start of a new one. It's a death and rebirth that would have happened without us, but isn't it so nice to be there to see it? I think there's an incredible yet humble beauty in that. It was an experience for its own sake, and I loved it.
One of my favorite playthroughs of this game. Doing this blind and without chat backseating made it a great experience. Thank you for the content and it was a great journey everyone!
The music design in this game will evoke the same emotions you feel now days, week, or months later. What a complete game, a success at all levels. Thanks for playing it through Fauna!
What an amazing ending to the series! I do hope you do play the DLC as a let's play as well! This format works really well and it's fun! Thank you so much for playing this game Fauna. This game truly is amazing and it's such a perfect fit for you. 🙏
"I don't want to miss anything". >Proceeds to rush through things. Fauna why..I think you would've loved the bits of lore in the vessel. Or the extra tidbits of dialogue around the bonfire. Still it's definitely very enjoyable, thank you so much for the let's play ::)
It was a ride. Fauna's playthrough was so interesting and funny to watch. I'll definitely come back to this series when I have the time. Thanks Past Fauna for the awesome playthrough.
