Fauna is gaming fr fr. She doesn't want to admit it most of the time, but she's truly a tryhard gamer. She might have been very lucky, but luck doesn't come to those who don't prepare for it. She was ready to rumble! Nature onee-san doesn't disappoint. Oh and fun fact, later on she brought this trophy to her Skyrim stream, and *just by randomly pushing buttons she almost instantly solved the Elder Scroll puzzle that took me half a day of struggling to finally get through.* I was in pain watching her go 😂#faunasweep #neverpunished

Honestly the concept of a Metronome Tournament is interesting because it SOUNDS like 100% RNG and shenanigans, but there's actually a fair bit of strategy you can use when picking Pokemon and items to help your chances. Like, Polteageist being ghost type gave it that vital immunity to normal type moves, and Weak Armor gave it the speed it needed to outspeed and hit first

Weak armour is a disadvantage in metronome battles. Cursed body on polteageist can disable metronome and force a switch

Fauna, queen of the self-destruct button. We saw Self-Destruct, Explosion and Misty Explosion all while Fauna was the one in the match. She was the culprit all along.

Fauna is the only one in that tourney to have a Pokemon (Cupcake) explode and still win lol. Cupcake then photofinishes with 3 successive signature moves. against Anya fauna showed plot armor against cali fauna showed how karma works on herself against reine fauna showed her protagonist luck + OPness the last one was really OP on cupcake she used like 4 signature moves -rattata super fang (not a signature move after gen 3 tho) -palkia's spacial rend -decidueye's triple arrow -pikachu's volt tackle

Note: In a competitive tournament, according to what is the called the 'Self KO Clause'... The player automatically loses if his or her last Pokémon uses Self-Destruct, Misty Explosion, Final Gambit, or Explosion. Destiny Bond and Perish Song also fail when used by the last Pokémon. Since Anya's Gardevoir, Kuku, used such a move, even if it is from Metronome, the win technically goes to Fauna, even though her Tinkaton, Cupcake, was defeated by the move. Don't believe me? this is the second time I saw someonse used self-destruct type of move, and lost.. does this move really allow the user to win tho..? I forgot who was the one using this move, was it Lui or Okayu...?

Yes, since Selfdestruct causes the user to faint first, meaning it will never result in the user's win

A self-destructive move can strategically be useful during a 6v6 battle when you can actually choose when to do it. Because it gives you the option to sacrifice a Pokémon that's low on HP and most likely can't accomplish much more in battle to do a huge chunk of damage or potentially outright KO an opposing Pokémon that's still healthy. Although, as already pointed out by other replies, you really don't want to do this with your last Pokémon unless you want to meme about "going out with a bang" or something. In smaller teams of 2v2 in Metronome Battles, though... it's almost always a bad thing. Teams are too small to really benefit the strategic choice, and you can't even pick the timing anyway.

@@phytagor I'm not too sure about the first generation (Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow), because the coding was... "weird" in those games to say the least. But ever since Gold and Silver, absolutely. Except when fighting the AI in singleplayer. Because the AI is a cheating bastard and it would still count as a loss for you if they do it. Thankfully, not many NPCs actually do this, so it never was a huge problem. The most notorious abuser of this loophole was the Poison Gym Leader Koga from Pokémon Red and Blue.

Honestly, I’m surprised that Fauna Terastallized her Tinkaton. Fairy/Steel is one of the best type combos in the game, so throwing away half of that is just odd. It was game over if she ever got hit by a Poison or Steel move at that point.
