Trio Wanderer treats our greatest-ever pieces of chamber music in the most poetical, stylistically informed, heartfelt, gorgeous but non-egotistical ways any ensemble has ever conceived! Thanks for the inspirational playing!

Such a brilliant Frenchman...this is why I want to believe in life after death; such people writing music in Heaven, or perhaps reincarnated, doing great work even in other fields...it would be sad if such beauty can only last on paper. "Manuscripts don't burn." Bulgakov, The Master and Margarita ( Мастер и Маргарита).

This piece is why Fauré is my favorite French Romantic composer: his music has an very organic richness of texture, craftsmanship and emotion. The same can’t always be said for other 19th century French composers like Saint Saens or Alkan.

THis is the second score of chamber music by Fauré (just after the sonata for violin and piano) and it shows a refinement in the melody, the harmony, the manner of writing, which is hardly believable.

He's complimenting Fauré for producing such a refined work at such an early stage in his development as a composer of chamber music.

Enoch Cheung I was in a practice room working on chamber as a violinist and I heard a pianist practicing this part again and again. It’s stuck with me since. Magical

I can't recall any other chamber work or symphony where the slow movement that isn't the 1st or final movement is in the same home key as the piece.

How about telling us THE NAMES OF THE PLAYERS??! Or does Fauré get 100% of the glory and the players are merely his “servants”🙄🙄?
@geuros
@geuros Год назад
Well, that's actually not a bad thought, players should consider themselves servants of the music, but for purposes of comparing different recordings it would be good to know their names. (I'm a pianist myself and I believe that serving music is much better approach than to serve myself)
