I was just talking to my friend the other day about making a DIY fireplace and then saw your video, never would have thought about storage, but honestly wow it came out amazing. I feel like I should just hire you to build me one too if instead of attempting it on my own 🤦🏻♀️🤷♀️🤣
Your video is perfect. For 3 years I have been making a faux fireplace in my home. Started with tri-fold cardboard. Then boxes with storage and peel and stick bricks. This year I wanted to challenge myself to wood. This is my inspiration. Can't wait to get to work.

I have been wanting a fireplace for quite some time now especially now that it’s around Christmas and I just got more inspiration from you to do it. However, I am not very experienced with building by any means. hahaha Maybe I’ll just have to rewatch your video a billion times and learn. :) I do also have to ask where you got that window mirror on top. Thank you, Derek! I use and love the HomeRight Finish Max Super Paint Sprayer. The different tips mean you're able to use different viscosities of finish (paint or stain) with little to no diluting needed.
Wow so impressive. If only I had all those tools. $1000 in tools and space to store it all to make a $500 fire place. Awesome. I would totally hire someone to building this but I only find Home Depot selling inferior pieces to yours. Nice work honestly I’m just envious.
Brandon Bakhtiar your sarcasm is equally as impressive👍🏻 The good news is that it doesn’t cost $500 to build it and you don’t need $1000 in tools. Just because I have a large amount of tools doesn’t mean it can’t be done with less. I’ve built a ton of large projects well before I had all of these tools. It just takes a little extra thought into how to make things work.

Are you talking an electric log heater? If so I could see that being okay for short periods of time. I have a mini electric fireplace I’d probably put inside this when I build it. I would just make sure to always be home or by it while it’s on.
Not at all true. Just because I happen to have these tools, doesn’t mean that they are needed to build this. I built a queen size Murphy bed with bookcases and an attached desk unit and didn’t have more than a handful of tools when I built it.
