Just watching this in 2024... I was surprised how dark the pieces became after baking...but I like it better! It looks so much like the rose quartz I have here. Thanks for the turorial!
Love your technique! I was concerned it would be the paler version that you like, but was pleasantly surprised when it turned out more pink, the way I like! Thank you for the video!
Hi Cindy, I do prefer a paler look, but each to there own as I know we all have different tastes. This technique is easily adapted to whichever shade of pink you prefer…. Do it your way ❤️
Welcome back Kathryn, I hope you had a lovely time with your family. I love Rose Quartz one of my favorites beside Labradorite. Will certainly be trying this out. Thanks for another great tutorial xxx.🥰🥰💖
Beautiful once again how different they look once baked. I’ve just purchased some white alcohol ink so will certainly be Gettin into this technique soon x
Fab, thank you Kathryn. You have cracked this for me, I like the look of the soft pink rose quartz but other tutorials are to much on the red side for me. This effect is how I personally like the tone of rose quartz.
thank you so much for sharing this technique. I tried it today and it came out really beautiful! just perfect and easy to follow! Greetings from Luxemburg
These are just gorgeous. I can seriously say that as a beginner in polymer clay, I have watched A LOT of videos. I’ve seen where I want to be one day but it is a long way off. But this is one of the most beautiful things I’ve seen that might be something I will succeed at. Thanks for that and thanks for the inspiration. 🤟🏼🤍
Hi Kathryn….very, very pretty! Thank you! Little hint on the cling wrap….when you place it over your piece, be sure it’s quite tight and the over-flow of the cling wrap should be pushed down on your work table. Since I’ve been doing this, I rarely (if ever) get creases in my clay pieces. It certainly gives you a nice beveled edge, which I really like! Happy claying!❤️
Love your tutorials and I wish you lived near me so we could go to the pub because you seem like a lot of fun! Thanks for sharing your talents. JoAnn in Charlottesville, Virginia
oh- you are the best! beautiful- thank you so much, you made my weekend! I appreciate you taking the time, it sounds like you are so busy and glad you are able to spend time with your family.- happy to help motivate you 😉🤣 .excited to try it. ❤️ thx again- Maria
Fabulous as usual, I agree, less is more and I need to keep that in mind when I go in ham fisted lol. I've got to give credit to Fiona Abel-Smith for the laminated graph sheets, I find them invaluable for all sorts things xxx
I used the fimo rose quartz and white translucent and it turned out more white. I used pearl liquid clay as I didn’t have alcohol ink so that may have helped the more white turn out. Will post a picture when I polish it up.
that's quite beautiful. I love the subtle beauty of it. Kathryn, is that white translucent or plain translucent? It looks white on the video. thank you. Glad you had so much quality time with your family!
Hi, Kathlryn! Thank you very much for the precise and detailed explanations. I do not know English and I would ask, if possible, to include subtitles in Bulgarian. I am delighted that you are sharing your knowledge for free! Health and success!
Wow I love this, but I love roses quartz, lol it is beautiful, what is the other one that is a crazy one, dragon vain I think it’s called, wonder who that would make up using close to the same concept, just heavier on the veining, the rose is gorgeous. And yes have to admit it’s been hotter then “beep” here state side in California, we had a few cool days but next week scorching again 100*f I think around 30-35*c miserable and no I haven’t played with clay for a while now. 😢 so glad you had fun with the youngster, I hardly see mine they all live over 1500 miles away, and the oldest ones are closer, but still don’t get to see them, I don’t have a auto, so it’s on them. And I’m proud to say I have grand baby # 10 do here in November, 6th granddaughter. lol they are a pure joy, and glad your back and healthy. Tfs hugs
Kathryn, what brand of clay did you use? I watched a video with Kalyana yesterday where she compared Pardo translucent with another brand and the difference was striking. Samantha at Jessama Tutorials has said the same thing. Pardo has the best translucent but it doesn't show up as translucent until baked and cooled. I am thinking you might have used Pardo as well as these pieces are gorgeous?
Hi I use Cernit….. I adore Pardo but it can be a little bit tricky to work with so I don’t film with it often, but it is amazing clay. Cernit is a very close second in translucency…. One of my faux stone videos is with Pardo
Hi glad you are back. I was getting worried about you , but you need your grandma time for sure. Family time is so important. Hope you enjoyed the time.
Thanks Renate,❤ I've had loads of messages off folk making sure I'm okay, I did do a little chat video to say hi and let you all know where I was etc......but it wouldn't upload/go live for some reason?
It’s a tricky one I’ve tried it too, seen many attempts but I think the best I’ve seen is by Yvonne Williams and one by Libé Bulletin (she gives credit to Yvonne) she nails the “flash” which just can’t be achieved with just polymer clay xx
