I've been here since "forest tapestry in my room, dirty princess bun-leighann" I think we are around the same age (34). I go through phases of watching beauty videos but I'm not sitting through a 45 minute eye shadow tutorial, ya girl has no time!! This was perfect!! Glad your back! ❤

I have gotten questioned by people in my life about my continuing to wear makeup after having my daughter. But I’m like I wear makeup as a mom because I like it. I liked it before I was a mom, and that hasn’t changed. I mean lots of stuff does change after having a baby, and the amount of time I put into my makeup routine has decreased significantly, but moms are still allowed to take some time for themselves. I’m glad you do the same.

I def watch makeup videos still. However, this type of video is prob my favorite. A GRWM where it’s just chatting about life, updates on people who we’ve seen, etc… almost like talking with a girlfriend while she’s getting ready for work/a date/whatever. Most people are here for you - not so much the makeup technique. And I think that takes the pressure off of YTers to always have the new miracle product. You’re really only mentioning things that you found to be incredible and it happens in an organic way - like it would if you were sitting in the bathroom while she was getting ready.

I still watch beauty videos almost daily as I’m getting ready! Mom of 2 here…but they’re older and can take care of themselves for the most part. 😊 All y’all with younger ones…hang in there! You’ll get here too 🙌🏽

Beauty RU-vid videos are a daily staple for me STILL. I’m constantly getting inspiration and ideas for my makeup routine, as well as new product ideas. I’m not sure what all the chatter is about these types of videos not being as popular as they used to be, but that’s definitely not the way my friends and I feel about it. Keep those beauty/makeup videos coming!

Eye nerd here 🙋🏻‍♀️ Meibobian Gland Dysfunction goes hand in hand with dry eyes! Your eyes don’t hold onto the natural tear film because the oils that your glands produce to hold the tears onto your eyes isn’t sufficient!

I think it is so weird that people have questioned why "as a mom" you're wearing make-up. What?! Because you have a baby, you are now supposed to give up anything that makes you feel good about yourself. It is so important that as moms, we continue to take time for ourselves. It doesn't matter if it is 1 min, 5 mins or more. Especially when you have a newborn and then as they get older. Just because we have become moms doesn't mean we need to give up our identity and everything we love to do. Is really crazy also because Men are never questioned like that. You never hear "oh your a dad now! Well you can't go golfing or fishing". No it's always just mom shaming. It needs to stop. We need up lift and give encouragement to other moms. I wear make-up and I work from home and I have kids. I do it cause I feel better and more like myself when I take some time for me. And that's ok. I am so proud you and every other mom out there that gets up every day and night and gets that shot done for our family no matter how we feel. Cause that is what moms do. Dads that do it and help out deserve credit to. I'm not saying they should be shamed, I want that to be clear. Noone should be. We need More love in the world!

i still watch beauty videos between vlogs and podcasts! honestly it’s more to inspire myself to get myself ready even when i don’t have the energy (i have hashimoto’s thyroiditis and i get TIRED quick) and i never regret the extra 20 minutes i use to get myself together. i emotionally feel better throughout the day and more put together even if i’m tired on the inside 😂. i was so happy to see you use the viseart matte palette, i bought it because of you! i used your wedding day make up video with that palette to do my own wedding make up and now my two year anniversary is coming up on halloween and i don’t know where the time has gone 🥲

I watch mostly vlogs now. I'm into this Japanese lady who never shows her face, never speaks, just goes about her day. She does use captions explaining her day. Then I watch true crime stuff sometimes.

I had the same experience with the nail wraps! But since I love the designs I was determined to find a way to use them so I do a coat of a nail hardener first and then put them on 😂 hasn’t changed the longevity for me and my nails are definitely in better shape since I started doing it

QOTD: I still watch beauty vids!! Your response to those who question why you still put on makeup as a mom reminded me of a book called Make Your Bed whose thesis is that you should make your bed every morning because then, having that little accomplishment, it sets you up to continue being productive for the rest of your day. I imagine the same theory applies for putting on makeup!!
