Agreed I will read them but I don’t see why this is called women’s fiction as it just happens to be based around women. Can men not enjoy stories based around women?
@Anna annanymous the comment clearly said that the problem is that only the women’s books get this category. Why’s there a women’s fiction if not men’s fiction? What’s the need for separating them anyway 🙄 it’s not a genre. Plus kindly don’t just generalise an entire gender😑
I've seen the Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle around booktube a few times and it looks really intriguing! Not to be confused with the Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo though lol

I just started reading psychological thrillers in the past year. I enjoy them. It was a nice change of pace from romances. I have several of the books you mentioned on my TBR list.
You should definitely start the "Will trent" series by Karen Slaughter it's everything you could ever ask for. When you said : I'm surprised I enjoyed it because hated every single character 😅 This was my first thought when i considered adding "You" to my tbr thank you for the recommendations

Oooo I just put a hold on the Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle at the library. Sounds like it’s right up my alley! I’m reading Final Girls right now, but I’m in a book slump so I’m not too far into it yet. Your videos usually get me excited to read though lol so I think I’ll pick it up again tonight. ☺️
I also really enjoyed the girl on the train as well, and I love murder mysteries so your not alone. The movie wasn’t good at all but that’s just me. Her book into the water was also really good so I definitely recommend that one!
Lisa Jewell is really great for like a light mystery that's more about people and relationships than mystery and plot twists. And I still like The Girl on the Train! I read that book like it was air haha. I could not put it down and loved the twists! And I even liked the adaptatation. Oh well!
This is one of my favourite genres and I liked or have purchased a lot of these recommendations. I like the Wife Between Us too. I thought it was interesting. I think you did a good job here!
Great list! I enjoyed The Seven(1/2) Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle too! Agreed it was a little confusing. But the concept is cool. If you liked the Lisa Jewell book, check out the one before it -- When She Was Gone. I thought it was excellent. You still have to give The Broken Girls a try!! One of my faves! You also might like Sunburn by Laura Lippman. Or Before I Go To Sleep by SJ Watson. An oldie but goodie. Oh! I'm reading The Death of Mrs Westaway. You said you liked that out of all Ware's novels.This my first Ware read. It's pretty good.

Please read a Tess Gerritsen book. They are so good. I just finished body double and loved it. I feel like nobody talks about Tess Gerritsen but all her books I have read are so good and suspenseful. She is a medical examiner turned writer, so all her books are highly detailed when she talks about corpses or dead bodies and blood. Shes just so good and carries so much of knowledge from being a medical examiner into her books. Highly highly recommend her.

I've only dipped my toe into mystery/thriller as well. I enjoyed The girl on the train too though, maybe because i'm not so into heavy hitting or gory mysteries! I also liked Tangerine, i'm sure I'll pick up more here and there.

@@Bookables Ohh, that's understandable, I do see why some people hate it, mostly because it was very misleading and the twist was kinda unfair, but it was one of my very first thrillers, and I savored the twist. It's alright, you're recs are great and I love reading the thrillers you suggest.
My first drive into mystery/ thriller from reading almost exclusively YA for a long time was All the Missing Girls by Megan Miranda. I loved it! I did not see the ending coming. I also hated every character in You and Joe doesn't become anymore likable in the second book, Hidden bodies.
I haven’t read a lot either but I really enjoy the Cormoran Strike series by J.K. Rowling. I honestly read them because her name was attached to them but I ended up really enjoying the series and I like the private detective narrative.
Mam i would recommend you to read Voyagers of hell. I read it on my kindle last week. Its ending was so intriguing that u keep guessing if its protagonist has reached earth or still in hell. Its an amazing read.

Possible Spoilers: I liked "The Wife Between Us," too the best for the way she tied up the ending except for the dog part. With "Big Little Lies" I did not like it till I saw what was going on by watching part of the series then I was wow'd. The Seven and a Half Deaths was brilliant up to the last part for me then it stunk. I am going to say you would probably be grumpy if you kept track of everything to figure out the murderer. "The Girl on the Train" rubbed me the wrong way but once I investigated the book a bit more and watched the movie, it was an ok Thriller with an amazing protagonist. I read Final Girls although I had guessed everything that was ok, the disconnect with the characters made me feel kind of ...meh.
I would actually caution you HEAVILY before reading more Slaughter. I am a longtime mystery/thriller/horror reader, and so I will say that I disagreed with pretty much everything you liked in this video, lol. Not that I don't love you, I will always watch your videos, but as you stated, these are mostly tame or light reading (I'm one of the ones that hated Girl on the Train and Wife Between Us- snoozefests, slow, and not shocking, in my opinion.) Traditional Karin Slaughter is one of my favorite authors, and I HATED Pieces of Her, if that tells you anything about her normal books. She is an auto buy author for me, so I was so excited for this book, and I almost threw it against the wall. Slaughter is usually much more dark, much more gore (she's not gory, per se, but there are really brutal murders, if that makes sense.) Actually, one of the only books in my entire life that I had to put down and breathe and take a second, she wrote (Pretty Girls.) Holy moly, it was intense. Also, most of her books are written in one big world, she combined two different series into one and kept going, so it can get confusing. You'd bascially have to read both series from their beginnings, and then read the one book that combines them and go from there. I honestly don't know if I'd rec any of her books to you. This one is the only one I can think of that isn't super dark, super scary, or really brutal. Thanks for the video, I always enjoy your opinion!
i also want to read more thrillers...and ghost stories. i love stories about haunted houses etc, although they really scare me. Am seeing the new halloween film tomorrow lol
I just finished ‘You’ today and I didn’t like the ending 😕 I also didnt like any of the characters in this book. Everyone was so self obsessed 😆 I loveddd ‘pretty girls ‘ by Karin Slaughter. It was my first Karin Slaughter book and I cannot wait to read all of her other books.
