This was definitely the best year for One Piece, without a doubt. I know I'll regret ranking these chapters because I feel that they all deserve to be higher up in the rank. Cobra 4. 1086 - The Five Elder Planets -- "-What is the reason for Lulusia's selection? - Its close proximity." - Imu-sama 5. 1079 - The Red-Haired Pirates - An Emperor’s Crew -- "Divine Departure" - Shanks 6. 1087 - Battleship Bags -- "You have a habit of raising enemies" - Kuzan 7. 1098 - The Birth of Bonney -- "You can rest now, Ginny. There were so many incredible chapters this year, it's hard to rank them all. I think these are my top 5 at least: 1. 1102 - The most emotional post-timeskip chapter for me so far; the Kuma/Bonney emotions coupled with the re-contextualization of the Straw Hats' journey through Kuma's perspective elevates this to my #1 spot. 2. 1088 - Koby and Garp hype elevated by the emotions of seeing both how far Koby has come + Garp's sacrifice. 3. 1079 - Shanks hype, 'nuff said. 4. 1085 - Imu's powers, Sabo rawness, Kobra's final words and death. 5. 1086 - Five Elder names reveal, some insight into Imu, Garling reveal. I feel like my rankings could easily change depending on my mood haha, but I'm at least confident about my #1 for the year

I think 1084-1086 has to be mine man. The conflict between Cobra, Sabo, Imu and the Gorosei is so bone chilling and incredibly exciting for the lore. Each week those chapters were coming out I couldnt believe what we were reading.

Ok challenge accepted. Ranking all 32 chapters that came out this year for one piece, from 1071 to 1102. One piece was so good this year that this list is also incidentally the top 32 manga chapters of 2023 for ALL series imo. Thats right! Hot take, no other series had a SINGLE chapter better than even the worst one piece chapter this year (ok maybe jjk 236 is somewhere around top 15 but THATS IT! 😂) #32: 1075 ("worst" chapter of the year imo, still a 9/10) #31: 1071 #30: 1083 1074 1077 1097 1090 #25: 1073 1099 1072 1078 1091 #20: 1089 (super underrated) 1092 1100 1076 1101 #15: 1093 1087 1080 1098 1082 #10: 1081 1084 1086 1094 1095 #5: 1096 #4: 1088 #3: 1079 #2: 1102 #1: 1085 Some explanations: I tried not to let recency bias affect me; kuma's flashback was excellent, but some of it's weaker chapters rush through his life just a tiny bit too fast imo, so they're lower in the list. I also have heavy biases towards sabo, buggy, and garp/kuzan content, so that definitely had an effect on my rankings. This was really hard to do though, and im sure if i did it again tomorrow this list would look completely different, so I understand if anyone disagrees bc future me does too lol.

Game Changer Demonic Power?? 7. 1078 So that was HER this whole time?? Egg Head Incident?? 8. 1082 THAT'S MY PIRATE KING BAGGOAT D. For me I have three categories of favorites; Hype Piece, Lore Piece, and Emotional Piece. Since there’s so much that went on this year pertaining to these 3 categories it’s really tough to condense it down to just 10 chapters but heres what I came up with: 10. 1077 You should’ve put it together sooner 9. 1076 Old Friends 8. 1081 Kuzan, 10th captain of the Blackbeard pirates 7. 1089 Under siege 6. 1088 The final lesson 5. 1086 The five elder planets 4. 1079 The red-haired pirates, an emperor’s crew 3. 1102 The life of kuma (One of the most emotional endings to yet another tragic backstory) 2. 1085 The death of Nefertari D Cobra 1. 1084 The attempted murder of a celestial dragon All of these in my opinion are SS tier. So many peak chapters this year honestly and I could interchange a lot of chapters in those bottom 4 spots but those are the ones I found most enjoyable 🔥 can’t wait to see your own rankings Coach! First of all, I have a lot to say about some chapters, so sorry if i extend to much, secondly my native language is not English so it may not be written very well, but anyway, here goes My Top 10! 1. 1102 - The Life and Death of Kuma: Simply the best chapter that Oda has done in many years, and for me, it is not only the best chapter of One Piece of 2023, but it is the best of the manga in 2023, the level of emotion it transmits is simply another. planet, seeing how the story of one of an entire arc is rethought in a single 17-page chapter is something that only a genius like Eiichiro Oda can achieve, and the death of Kuma is just... I don't think I can describe it with words how good it is, with one of the best pages that Oda has drawn in the last 26 years, in which we can also see, not only how Kuma runs through the memories of his life, but we also see that he runs doing the pose of his lifelong idol, Nika. All the genius that Eiichiro Oda can achieve was conveyed with this chapter. 2. 1085 - The Death of Nefertari Cobra, Im & Gorosei vs. Sabo, Nefertari D. Lili: This hapter is the fort one when we see the final enemy of the series speaking AND reveling info from the VOID CENTURY!!! also, the ASL mini-flashback and the emotional death of Nefertari Cobra revealing to Sabo that the Nefertari's shares "The Monicker D." too, PEAK!! 3. 1098 - The Birth of Bonney, The death of Ginny: More Kuma Flashback greatness, another emotional chapter where we see Kuma at another low point in his life, after the person he loved most was taken away from him, and then smile again after starting to take care of his daughter, Bonney. Although, this joy does not last long as Kuma once again has to endure the possibility of a loved one dying again, this chapter manages to summarize Kuma's life, full of downs, but still with Kuma managing to keep his smile. 4. 1079 - Shanks Divine Departure on Kidd: Pure hype and greatness, and the first time that we see the Red-Hair Emperor fighting, and also doing the attack of his former captain!! 5. 1088 - The Last Lesson of Garp, Koby's Honesty Impact: After a long time we get to see how Koby develops his powers to protect others, and someone from the old era like Garp sacrificing himself in pursuit of the new era. CINEMA!!! 6. 1081 - Garp vs. Kuzan, BB defeats Law: A chapter where we are presented with the most tragic part of Garp's character, which is based on his continuous failure to guide those he raises, making his fight with Kuzan even more emotional. On the other hand we have the defeat of Law, where we finally see a little more of Bepo and his great sacrifice to manage to take his captain alive, confronting a Yonko on the spot. 8. 1080 - Galaxy Impact, Battle on Hachinosu: One of the most entertaining fight chapters of the Final Saga, with the official presentations of the other members of SWORD, a bit of the consequences of the Cross Guild's actions after showing the reward on Koby, and the epic entrance of the Legendary Hero, Garp, destroying a good part of the island with his first attack that we are shown in the series. 7. 1094 - Saint. Saturn lands on Egghead, Luffy shots Kizaru with his "Dawn Star Gun": In this chapter we were faced with one of the most impressive presentations of power in the entire series along with that of Kaido, seeing a Gorosei literally become a demon personally was as epic as it was disturbing. On the other hand, we have the "outcome" of the "fight" between Luffy and Kizaru, which in my opinion fails to meet 100% of the expectations, but still manages to provide entertaining and epic moments, and one of that is Luffy's "Dawn Star Gun", where we finally see the name of the technique that in Ch. 1045 "pierced" Kaido's head, and that now managed to almost knock out a Navy Admiral, this made me very proud of how far our King has come!! 9. 1082 - Buggy is coming for the One Piece, Sabo is back: Buggy is one of my favorite characters, and seeing a little more lore from his past seemed fantastic to me, especially knowing what his motivations were and why he didn't go with Shanks, and this chapter managed to answer it, giving what for me is the best moment of his character, when he confronts Crocodile and Mihawk to go for the One Piece, PEAK! 10. 1095 - Start of the Kuma Flashback: Saturn reveals Kuma's race and we see how Bonney sadly remembers her father telling her about a certain warrior who was going to free her one day, NIKA!! Plus Shanks in Elbalf 9. 1096 Roger at God Valley and the Hands of Liberation 10. 1086 Garling Reveal Sabo informs the Revs of mother frame. Almost put ch. 1094 That Star Gun and Saturn arrival was crazy. Final saga Greatness has been an absolute treat. We've been eating well.

Oda dropped the best chapter at the end! my chapter of the year was ch1088 The Final Lesson... but we know what Oda dropped this week.. CH1102 - The Life of Kuma, takes the spot as my favorite chapter for 2023 with chapter 1088 as runner up. Still can't believe even with my extra bias with Garp, I must humbly give this year to Kuma.
