Stateside my favorite places to hang out are Duck/Kitty Hawk, NC and a little further north on Chincoteague Island, VA. The Assategue Island National Seashore, the wildlife, especially the wild herds of ponies and the gorgeous beaches are among the more unspoiled areas along the East coast. Duck and Kitty Hawk are two great places along the Outer Banks. They’re a little more crowded than Chincoteague, but the beaches and the small town character of Duck are special. Beyond North America I like to hitch a ride to Iceland during the late summer, and early fall spending time exploring the country of “fire and ice” in a rented 4X4. Little known to outsiders, this little country offers some of the best backcountry sport flying and hiking in the world.

We full time and have made on loop around the US over the past year. Our hidden gem would be Letchworth State Park about an hour and a half East of of Niagara Falls. It is called the “Grand Canyon of the East”. There are three beautiful waterfalls and great hiking. We liked it better than Niagara. parks.ny.gov/parks/79/details.aspx. Be sure to check it out if you are in that area!

Loved hearing everyone’s favorites. I’m going to start a little notebook to keep information of places we are told about that are good to visit. Our favorite is Big Bear Shores RV resort right on Big Bear Lake in the mountains of California. I’d only recommend going up through Redlands and use Hwy 38 route. It is less steep and scary. If you stay there try for one of the water front rental spots. #92 was our favorite if they are still renting it. The lots are privately owned so not every owner is signed up to rent their spot. They have a website that shows what is available and pictures.

Three cheers for Maine. I worked and lived up and down the coast of Maine for two years as a traveling operating room nurse with my old girlfriend back in 1998 and 1999. Best two years of my life. Nicest people I ever met - not one nasty person in two years.

Favorite locations, with the RV(Tent Trailer) before it self-destructed. CA coast between NAS Pt. Mugu, and Eureka CA, and several points in between on the California Coast. Biggest adventure probably was towing the back roads on a trip through the northern Sierras and Mt Shasta, Mt Lassen and over to the coast. "Adventure" was getting everything back out of a am un-signed dead-end street in Weaverville, CA. while my wife was at a quilting shop. We're now looking at a new TV and trailer and back to Moab. Four wheeling in and around southeast Utah and Northern AZ

Phil, you will never win! I have to say, being on the road for 6 years, our all-time favorite is Glacier National Park. The Grand Tetons and Yellowstone come in 2nd and 3rd. Well folks, we hope to have our new to us coach in about 3 weeks and will start our adventure all over again!

Norma and I are "part timers". She works at a school system so we get summers to make long, cross country RV trips in our Newmar 40' towing a Honda Civic ( no dolly ;-) ). It is really hard to pick a favorite because a lot of places offer so much beauty and wildlife, BUT, I would say Yellowstone and Grand Teton mountains. We've been there twice because we felt like we didn't get to see it all the first trip. We have been to all 50 states total so we feel like we've been to the buffet, but now we know what we liked best and are doing seconds and thirds. This year will be our first trip to Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island in Canada. We will be "base camped" in Gettysburg for a week, then New York, then Boston, then Bangor, then New Brunswick..... Can't wait. BTW - enjoy you all sharing life and adventures with us. Blessings and Safe travels to everyone out there. We are just starting to do a you-tube channel, and sadly a lot of the places we've been we only took photos and not video, but that will change on our next trip(s).

Thanks for trip planning map suggestion. We were tracking where we have been on Good Sam, but they recently posted on their website that they were removing that feature at the end of Mar 2019. They plan on a new trip planner in the future, but when they take down the current trip planner, travelers will lose all historical tracking which is just wrong on every level.

One of the responses I liked the best was to be able to sit around and do nothing but enjoy the company of other like minded people. The location didn't matter, the company is what made it memorable for them. Stacy...why on earth would you jump out of a perfectly good airplane? I think Phil just loves to see you surprised by his responses or actions because you are usually so well prepared and have things planned in the precise order for the video that any time you are thrown off your game he's going to be a smart man and take advantage of it. (and we know that doesn't happen very often, but when it does, boy watch out - he's gonna be dogging you forever about it) Gizmo wanted to be in the series this time and say where her favorite spot was. I think it was that nice patch of ground out behind the rig up in the Smokey Mountains.

@@todayissomeday Ooopsy - my apologies to Gizmo - I called him a 'her' (we had a dog named Gizmo years ago and she was a 'her' - sorry) lol Looking forward to Gizmo's video debut Saturday 👍 And just because you love skydiving doesn't mean it's okay to abandon a perfectly good airplane to feel the wind rushing in your face and the ground rushing up even faster - hahahahahaha. You are more adventurous than I am. When I was much, much younger I used to want to do that. Now that I'm older and my bones break easier, well....

Thank you for your service!! We have found a lot of veterans who also full time. I wonder if we get so use to life on the move its just hard to sit still after retirement. The only benefit I know about is the military discounts at RV parks (most have them), the Access Pass and base RV parks: This video talks about the access pass and has links in the description for some military RV parks: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RBxH0sJfddI.html

It’s more fun to ask about “hidden gem” restaurants or “hole in the wall” restaurants.
